Venolife is a combined drug for external use that has an angioprotective, antithrombotic and venotonic effect, which improves tissue regeneration.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - gel for external use: transparent, light yellow in color, has a specific odor (40 or 100 g in aluminum tubes, in a cardboard box 1 tube).
Active ingredients in 1 g of gel:
- Dexpanthenol - 0.05 g;
- Troxerutin - 0.02 g;
- Sodium heparin - 0.0025 g (300 units).
Additional components: carbomer 980 or 940, propylene glycol, trometamol, phenylethanol, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Heparin, which is part of the Venolife gel, is a direct-acting anticoagulant. As a natural anticoagulant factor in the body, this substance has an anti-inflammatory effect and ensures the regeneration of connective tissue by suppressing the activity of hyaluronidase. Heparin also improves local blood flow, helps to activate the fibrinolytic properties of blood, and prevents the formation of blood clots.
Dexpanthenol - a provitamin B 5 - in the skin passes into pantothenic acid contained in coenzyme A. The latter plays a significant role in the processes of oxidation and acetylation. Dexpanthenol also normalizes metabolic processes, improves the absorption of heparin and ensures the regeneration of damaged tissues.
Troxerutin is an angioprotective agent. It is characterized by P-vitamin activity (reduces capillary fragility and vascular tissue permeability), normalizes trophism and microcirculation of tissues, minimizes congestion in veins and paravenous tissues, has anti-inflammatory and antiexudative effects.
Pharmacokinetics
With local application of Venolife gel, the rate of absorption of its active components by the skin is quite high. Heparin accumulates in the upper layers of the epidermis and intensively binds to the proteins of the skin, dexpanthenol penetrates into all layers of the skin and is converted into pantothenic acid, troxerutin can be detected in the dermis within 30 minutes after the application of the drug, and after 2-5 hours it is determined in the subcutaneous fat fiber.
Indications for use
- Microcirculatory-trophic disorders and edematous pain syndrome caused by venous insufficiency of the lower extremities: post-thrombophlebitic syndrome, acute and chronic thrombophlebitis, chronic lymphostasis, varicose veins;
- Soft tissue injuries: dislocations, hematomas and sprains.
Also, the drug is used to accelerate the process of granulation and epithelialization of trophic ulcers in the regeneration phase (provided there is no pronounced exudation).
Contraindications
- Open, infected wounds;
- Wounds with profuse exudation;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Instructions for the use of Venolife: method and dosage
Venolife is intended for external use. The gel should be applied 2-3 times a day in a thin layer to the affected areas and around them, spreading it evenly over the skin surface with light rubbing movements until the product is completely absorbed. The duration of therapy is 2-3 weeks. The need to prolong treatment is determined by the doctor, based on the severity of the pathological process and the results of clinical tests.
In cases of relapse, therapeutic courses are carried out 2-3 times a year.
In case of trophic ulcers (without pronounced exudation), before applying the gel, the wound surface should be cleaned of necrotic tissue and exudate, if necessary, rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, 0.05% chlorhexidine bigluconate solution or furacilin solution 1: 5000, then dry. The gel is applied in such a way that the drug covers the entire affected surface of the skin, after which a sterile gauze bandage is applied over it (the bandage is changed once per knocking). The duration of therapy is determined by the dynamics of epithelialization.

Venolife is generally well tolerated; in rare cases, allergic reactions such as skin rash and itching occur at the site of application of the drug.
