Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The pharmacological action of Berocca Plus is due to the combined composition of vitamins and microelements:

  • B vitamins: are involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and in many other metabolic reactions;
  • Vitamin C: a biological antioxidant, is actively involved in the inactivation of free radicals, affects the function of leukocytes and the metabolism of folic acid, increases the absorption of iron in the small intestine. Normalizes capillary permeability, potentiates the formation of connective and bone tissue;
  • Calcium: a mineral that is essential for the functioning of enzyme systems and in most physiological processes, and in combination with vitamin B 6 and magnesium, it promotes the transmission of nerve impulses;
  • Magnesium: participates in protein synthesis, fatty acid metabolism, sugar oxidation and other reactions;
  • Zinc: is a component of many proteins, neuropeptides, hormones, hormone receptors and a catalyst in the activation of more than 200 enzymes. He is directly involved in the synthesis of pyridoxine derivatives - coenzymes.

Water-soluble vitamins do not accumulate in the body, therefore, in conditions of increased need for vitamins and minerals, their amount supplied with food may not be enough.

The preparation does not contain fat-soluble vitamins.

Ascorbic acid has no effect on blood glucose levels, but when determining the value of glucose in urine, it can distort the test results. Therefore, you should stop taking vitamin C a few days before such tests.

Due to the presence of riboflavin in the drug against the background of taking the pills, urine may turn intense yellow, this change has no clinical significance.

In the treatment of calcium and magnesium deficiency, it is not enough to use only Berocca Plus, since in 1 tablet the proportion of calcium is 12.5% of the recommended daily intake, magnesium - 33.3%.

When following a diet with limited salt intake, film-coated tablets should be used, because the sodium content in 1 effervescent tablet is 272 mg.

Patients with established intolerance to certain sugars require prior medical advice.

With concomitant therapy with other drugs, it is impossible to start using Berocca Plus without a doctor's prescription.

The drug can be taken with diabetes mellitus, since the mannitol content in 1 effervescent tablet corresponds to 0.028 XE (bread unit), and in 1 film-coated tablet, the total amount of mannitol, lactose monohydrate and dextrose does not exceed 0.02 XE.

Berocca Plus does not affect the patient's ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

  • thiosemicarbazone, 5-fluorouracil: contribute to the neutralization of thiamine;
  • antacids: inhibit thiamine resorption;
