Belloid is a combined drug with sedative and antispasmodic effects.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of dragees (in plastic bottles of 50 pcs., In a cardboard box 1 bottle and instructions for use of Belloid).
1 tablet contains:
- Butobarbital - 30 mg;
- L-hyoscyamine sulfate - 100 mg;
- Ergotoxin - 0.3 mg.
Pharmacological properties
The effectiveness of Belloid is determined by the properties of active components that make up its composition:
- Ergotoxin: affects the autonomic nervous system by reducing the tone of the sympathetic section;
- Belladonna alkaloids (in the form of L-hyoscyamine sulfate): have a beneficial effect on the parasympathetic division, reducing its tone;
- Dibutylbarbituric acid (butylethylbarbituric acid, butobarbital): normalizes the autonomic nerve centers of the brain, while enhancing the action of the other two components of the drug.
The drug helps to restore the balance of inhibition / excitation processes in the autonomic nervous system, exhibits sedative, antispasmodic and antianginal activity, reduces heart rate (HR), relieves bronchospasm, normalizes sleep and sweating, dilates coronary vessels, and has an antiemetic effect.
Indications for use
- Angioneuroses and angiospastic disorders;
- Increased irritability;
- Hyperthyroidism;
- Neurogenic disorders associated with menstrual irregularities;
- Insomnia;
- Diseases of the thyroid gland;
- Meniere's syndrome;
- Neuroses with severe autonomic disorders;
- Vegetovascular dystonia, including tachycardia;
- Autonomic disorders of central genesis.
Contraindications
- Hypertrophy of the prostate;
- Glaucoma;
- Hypersensitivity to dragee components.
The drug is also contraindicated for use during pregnancy.
Belloid, instructions for use: method and dosage
Belloid is prescribed to be taken 3 times a day for 1-2 pills. After a week of taking the drug, it is recommended to take a break for 3-4 days. The duration of the course of treatment is determined individually, depending on the manifestation of the symptoms of the disease.
Side effects
With prolonged treatment, accommodation disorder is possible, which usually stops after drug withdrawal. In addition, the drug in some cases causes vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and dry mouth.
Overdose
Signs of an overdose of Belloid are: dizziness, increased drowsiness, tachycardia, flushing of the skin of the face, dilated pupil, impaired accommodation, vomiting, difficulty urinating, intestinal atony, convulsions, in severe cases - coma.
For the treatment of the condition, gastric lavage, the intake of activated charcoal are recommended, and, if necessary, symptomatic treatment.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms
Patients taking Belloid should avoid potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention and increased speed of psychomotor reactions.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is not recommended to prescribe the drug during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester.
For women who are breastfeeding, it is undesirable to take the drug.
Drug interactions
Coumarin derivatives, glucocorticoid drugs and oral hormonal contraceptives are not recommended to be used simultaneously with Belloid.
With the simultaneous use of sedatives, it is possible to enhance their sedative effect.
