Masseur
A masseur is a specialist with a medical education who, by means of mechanical action on the muscles and tissues of a person, stimulates the work of the nervous and other physiological systems of the body.

In what cases massage is contraindicated
If you decide to undergo a course of massage on your own, then you should know in what cases and for what diseases it is undesirable to contact cosmetic, sports, medical masseurs:

- tumors;
- myocardial ischemia in the acute stage;
- purulent skin lesions;
- atherosclerosis;
- allergies, accompanied by skin rashes;
- gangrene;
- syphilis;
- trophic ulcers;
- thrombosis;
- the presence of bleeding or a tendency to them;
- tuberculosis;
- postoperative period, accompanied by various complications;
- pathologies of the heart, liver, kidneys, in the acute stage;
- condition after taking alcohol or drugs.
How to get the profession of a massage therapist
Massage therapists receive their education in secondary and higher medical or sports institutions.
In addition to receiving education, a massage therapist must undergo special training in a medical center accredited for training massage techniques, and receive a document confirming qualifications.
At least once every 5 years, adult and children's massage therapists must take advanced training courses, be certified and confirm or upgrade their category.
