Dosage forms:

Pharmacological properties

Xanthinol nicotinate combines the characteristics of nicotinic acid and drugs of the theophylline group: it improves collateral circulation, promotes the expansion of peripheral vessels and has an antiplatelet effect. The substance blocks phosphodiesterase and adenosine receptors, which leads to an increase in the concentration of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in the cell and substrate stimulation of the synthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADO) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD).

The drug normalizes nutrition, oxygenation and tissue microcirculation. With prolonged use, it has an anti-sclerotic effect, inhibits platelet aggregation, activates fibrinolysis processes, lowers blood viscosity, increases lipoprotein lipase activity, and reduces cholesterol and atherogenic lipids in the body.

Xanthinol nicotinate reduces the total peripheral vascular resistance and enhances myocardial contractions, which provides a more intense cerebral circulation and an increase in the minute volume of blood circulation, and also makes the consequences of cerebral hypoxia less pronounced.

Instructions for the use of Xanthinol nicotinate: method and dosage

Tablets: should be taken orally, after meals. The recommended dosage is 150-600 mg 3 times a day;
Solution: prescribed for intramuscular and intravenous drip. The recommended dosage for the treatment of acute disorders of the blood supply to tissues is i / m, 300 mg 1-3 times a day. Depending on the clinical indications, the dose can be gradually increased to 600-900 mg 2-3 times a day. The treatment period is 2-3 weeks. For patients with acute disorders of cerebral and peripheral circulation, the drug is injected intravenously at a dose of 1500 mg. For infusion, the drug should be diluted in 200 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution or 200-500 ml of 5% glucose solution, the resulting solution is injected at a rate of 40-50 drops per minute for 1.5-4 hours. If necessary, repetition of the infusion is possible up to 4 times a day. The course of treatment is 5-10 days. With pronounced disorders of the blood supply to the tissues, the simultaneous use of xanthinol nicotinate by mouth 300 mg 3 times a day is indicated.
