Venoplant is a herbal preparation for the treatment of disorders of venous circulation.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - tablets of prolonged action, film-coated: round, convex on both sides, light brown; on the break, a brown core and a light brown shell are visible (20 and 25 pcs. in blisters, in a cardboard box 1, 2 or 4 blisters).
Active substance: dry extract of horse chestnut seeds * (4.5-5.5: 1) **, standardized by the amount of triterpene glycosides in terms of anhydrous escin, in 1 tablet - 263.2 mg.
* The dry extract is obtained from the seeds of the common horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L.) of the family Hippocastanaceae.
** Extractant: ethanol 50%.
Additional components: Eudragit RL 30D / dry matter [aqueous suspension: copolymer poly (ethyl acrylate: methyl acrylate: trimethylammonioethyl methacrylate chloride) 1: 2: 0.2; sorbic acid, purified water], Eudragit RS 30D / dry matter [aqueous suspension: copolymer poly (ethyl acrylate: methyl acrylate: trimethylammonioethyl methacrylate chloride) 1: 2: 0.1; sorbic acid, purified water], povidone K25, polysorbate 80, colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, triethyl citrate, magnesium stearate, anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate.
Film shell: antifoaming emulsion / dry substance [dimethicone, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, α-octadecyl-ω-hydroxypoly (oxyethylene) -5, sorbic acid, purified water], macrogol 4000, hypromellose (5 mPa.s), talc, vanillin, sodium saccharinate, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172), iron oxide red (E172).

Pharmacodynamics
Venoplant is one of the herbal venotonic preparations. It has a decongestant, venotonic, angioprotective and anti-inflammatory effect, helps to reduce capillary permeability.
The main effects of the drug:
- inhibiting the activation of lysosomal enzymes that break down proteoglycan;
- reduction of capillary fragility and permeability;
- elimination of venous stasis;
- increased tone of the venous wall;
- reducing fluid effusion in the tissue, reducing exudation and accelerating the resorption of existing edema;
- inhibition of inflammation processes, improvement of microcirculation;
- activation of tissue and organ repair.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Venoplant is used for chronic venous insufficiency of I-III classes in accordance with the CEAP classification, manifested by the following symptoms:
- feeling of heaviness in the legs;
- swelling;
- cramps in the calf muscles;
- phlebeurysm.
Contraindications
- age up to 18 years;
- the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.
Instructions for the use of Venoplant: method and dosage
Venoplant tablets should be taken orally before meals: swallowed whole and washed down with a small amount of liquid.
Adults are prescribed 1 tablet 2 times a day, morning and evening.
The duration of treatment in each case is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the severity of the condition, but the duration should not exceed 16 weeks.
Side effects
- from the nervous system: headache, dizziness;
- from the gastrointestinal tract: dyspeptic disorders (including nausea);
- allergic reactions: skin rashes, urticaria, fever, itchy skin, anaphylactic shock.
Overdose
Data on an overdose of Venoplant have not been reported. If you suspect overdosing, you should seek the advice of your doctor.
special instructions
Treatment must be accompanied by additional measures prescribed by the doctor, such as cold foot baths, leg bandages and wearing elastic stockings. For successful treatment, all prescriptions must be strictly followed.
In the case of a sudden onset of severe symptoms (especially only on one leg), such as a feeling of tension, severe swelling, a feeling of heat and pain, discoloration of the skin, you should immediately consult your doctor, as there is a risk of developing venous thrombosis of the lower extremities.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms
During treatment, it is recommended to be careful when doing activities that require increased attention and high speed of psychomotor reactions.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Venoplant is not prescribed during pregnancy / lactation.
Pediatric use
Venoplant therapy is contraindicated in patients under 18 years of age.
Drug interactions
Venoplant enhances the effect of indirect anticoagulants. The simultaneous use of these drugs is not recommended.
