How to temper properly
Hardening is one of the most powerful methods of strengthening the immune system, and therefore the body as a whole. This method allows, without resorting to drugs, to maintain health even in the most unfavorable conditions, for example, during massive epidemics of infectious diseases. If you temper correctly, you will not be afraid of people sneezing and coughing next to you, and long prescriptions for medicines prescribed by your doctor will be in the past, just like the visits of this doctor.
The principle behind hardening is very simple - training. It is known that what is not used in the human body atrophies. The same applies to immunity. Of course, this is a somewhat schematic and simplified representation, but still it will help you understand how to temper correctly. It has long been noticed that people who in every possible way avoided any damaging factors - drafts, cold, heat, microbes - instead of staying always healthy, on the contrary, were sick more than ordinary people. And at the same time, people who had to spend a lot of time in adverse weather conditions were sick much less, in particular, from colds. How so?
It turned out that in the first case, a person does not give the opportunity to train his immune system. By protecting her from all "external enemies" he thereby deprives her of the necessary "exercises", and she weakens. Instead of getting stronger from such care, the body becomes susceptible to any infection. The same people, whose immune system regularly faced "attempts to cross the border", had it in an active state, as a result of which the defenses of their body successfully coped with most infectious agents.
Thus, it becomes clear how to properly temper in order to achieve the best result. It is correct to temper this so that, on the one hand, you do not go too far and overload your immune system, and on the other hand, to provide it with the possibility of training. Usually cold is used for hardening. This factor, unlike infections and other damaging agents, is easy to control. They resort to dousing with cold water or other types of cold procedures: walking in light clothes, diving in the snow, winter swimming, etc.
There are two main principles, without which it will not be possible to temper correctly: gradualness and regularity. It is not so important what exactly you choose, but it is important that the strength of the aggressive effect increases gradually, allowing the body to adapt, and that hardening exercises are regular, since only regularity will ensure an increase in the body's defenses. If this is not done, then it is better not to engage in hardening at all, since if hardening is wrong, it will lead to the opposite result.
