Acerbin is a medicinal preparation of wound healing and antimicrobial action for external use.
Release form and composition
Acerbin is available in the following forms:
- ointment for external use: white, homogeneous (30 g or 100 g in aluminum tubes, in a cardboard box 1 tube);
- solution for external use: transparent, yellowish (80 ml each in plastic bottles with a spray nozzle, 1 bottle in a cardboard box; 1000 ml each in plastic bottles, 50 bottles each in a transport container (for hospitals)).
Composition of 1000 mg ointment:
- active ingredients: malic acid - 4.5 mg, salicylic acid - 0.133 mg, benzoic acid - 0.5 mg;
- auxiliary components: benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol monomalate, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, xalifin, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, propylene glycol, purified water.
Composition of 100 mg solution:
- active ingredients: malic acid - 2.20 mg, salicylic acid - 0.04 mg, benzoic acid - 0.14 mg;
- auxiliary components: propylene glycol, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
The drug is characterized by wound healing, antiseptic, keratolytic action.
Indications for use
Acerbin solution and ointment are used in the complex treatment of the following conditions and diseases:
- thermal and sunburn;
- cuts, abrasions, scratches;
- infected, contaminated, long-term non-healing wounds;
- bedsores and trophic ulcers;
- animal and insect bites.
Contraindications
According to the instructions, Acerbin is contraindicated in the presence of increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Additional contraindications for Acerbin ointment:
- acute renal failure (if used on a large surface of the body for a long time);
- neonatal period.
Instructions for the use of Acerbin: method and dosage
The drug is used externally.
Ointment is applied or spray Acerbin (solution) is sprayed directly onto the wound surface after preliminary surgical treatment of burns and wounds. After applying the ointment or spraying the solution, you can apply a sterile gauze bandage. Another application is also possible: first, the drug is applied to the dressing, and then the wound is closed with a lubricated or moistened bandage.
The frequency of application of the drug is two to three times a day; after the beginning of epithelialization or scarring - once a day.
Side effects
A slight burning sensation may occur at the site of application of the drug, which does not require discontinuation of the drug and disappears on its own within a few minutes.
In addition, allergic reactions and hyperthermia are possible (with hypersensitivity to the components).

Drug interactions
Salicylic acid, which is part of Acerbin, can increase the permeability of the skin to other topical preparations, thereby enhancing their absorption.
When absorbed into the blood, salicylic acid can increase the side effects of oral hypoglycemic agents, which are derivatives of sulfonylureas, and methotrexate.
