VG-5 is a combined herbal medicine with choleretic and hepatoprotective action, used in the treatment of alcoholic steatohepatitis.

Release form and composition

Dosage form of VG-5 release - film-coated tablets: red-brown, biconvex, oval; the core is gray-brown with lighter blotches (in blisters of 10 pcs., in a cardboard box 3 blisters).

Active ingredients in 1 tablet:

  • eclipta white (as a thick herb extract, 8: 1) - 50 mg;
  • columns with corn stigmas (in the form of a thick extract, 16: 1) - 50 mg;
  • adenosmatis blue (as a thick herb extract, 14: 1) - 130 mg;
  • Meniran (as a thick herb extract, 10: 1) 100 mg

Additional components:

  • core: magnesium stearate - 6 mg; aerosil (colloidal silicon dioxide) - 61.6 mg; lactose - 130 mg; starch - 110 mg; povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone) - 6 mg; sodium carboxymethyl starch - 10 mg;
  • shell: talc - 9.33 mg; brown dye (E155) - 0.63 mg; hypromellose - 9.33 mg; macrogol 6000 - 2.8 mg; titanium dioxide - 5 mg.

Indications for use

VG-5 is prescribed for the treatment of moderate alcoholic steatohepatitis.

Contraindications

  • lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
  • tendency to thrombosis;
  • age up to 18 years;
  • pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

Method of administration and dosage

VG-5 is taken orally, preferably 30 minutes before meals.

The drug is recommended to be taken 2 times a day, 2 tablets for a course of 6 weeks. Re-use of the drug is possible (as prescribed by a doctor).
