Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Caffetin light is an analgesic-antipyretic, the therapeutic effect of which is due to the combined composition. Paracetamol and propiphenazone have analgesic and antipyretic effects associated with their ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Caffeine, potentiating the absorption of paracetamol and propyphenazone, helps to achieve a sufficient clinical effect while taking small amounts of these substances and to reduce the risk of side effects.
Pharmacokinetics
After taking the tablet inside, the absorption of the active components occurs very quickly, which makes it possible to reach their maximum plasma concentrations within 0.5-1 hour.
The active ingredients in Caffetin Light have a similar pharmacokinetic profile, they are metabolized in the liver and excreted through the kidneys.
The biotransformation of paracetamol is accompanied by the formation of a small amount of the metabolite N-acetil-p-benzo-quinoneimine, which is toxic and can cause liver dysfunction.
