Asepta Adhesive Gum Balm is a combined agent for topical use in the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the gums.
Release form and composition
Asepta Adhesive Gum Balm is produced in the form of a cream: a thick, transparent mass of dark color with a specific odor (10 g each in an aluminum tube, in a cardboard box 1 tube complete with an applicator).
The balm contains:
- active ingredients: metronidazole, chlorhexidine bigluconate - 0.1%;
- auxiliary components: pectin, carboxymethyl cellulose, petrolatum, vaseline oil, sodium polyethylene oxide 400, polyethylene glycol ether of lauryl alcohol, mint essential oil, methylparaben, propylparaben, menthol, sodium saccharinate.

Asepta Adhesive Gum Balm is a combined anti-inflammatory agent intended for the treatment of diseases of the oral cavity of an infectious origin. Has a pronounced antibacterial effect, relieves bleeding gums and freshens breath.
The antibacterial effectiveness of the agent is due to the action of active ingredients, which have the following properties:
- metronidazole: is a derivative of nitroimidazole, protozoa and anaerobic bacteria that cause periodontal disease are sensitive to it: Prevotella intermedia, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella denticola, Wolinella recta, Fusobacterium fusiformis, Eikenella sperm., Borrelia vincenti;
- Chlorhexidine: has a pronounced antiseptic effect against vegetative forms of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, dermatophytes, lipophilic viruses, yeast.
Peppermint essential oil complements the bactericidal effect of the product, while menthol gives it a refreshing effect.
Due to the adhesive base, consisting of pectin and carboxymethylcellulose, after being applied in the oral cavity to the inflammation focus, the balm swells and fixes within 15-30 minutes. This ensures the local and long-term effect of the active ingredients.

The product is intended for local use.

Then the intended area of application of the drug must be carefully dried using a dry cotton or gauze swab. Apply balm to a dry surface with an applicator and moisten it with water. For 0.5 hour after the procedure, the patient should not eat or drink.
Recommended dosage regimen: 2 times a day. Duration of the course is 7-10 days.
To prevent exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis, the course should be repeated 2-3 times a year.
