Arketal Rompharm is an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic drug. Suppresses the activity of cyclooxygenases that regulate the synthesis of prostaglandins.

Release form and composition

Arketal Rompharm is available in the form of a solution for infusion and intramuscular administration: transparent, slightly yellow or colorless (2 ml in dark glass ampoules, 5 ampoules in a blister strip, 1 or 2 packs in a cardboard box).

Composition of 1 ml solution:

active substance: ketoprofen - 50 mg;
auxiliary components: benzyl alcohol, 96% ethanol, sodium hydroxide solution 10% or hydrochloric acid (until pH 7.2 ± 0.2), propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

Indications for use

Arketal Rompharm is used for symptomatic treatment, reducing inflammation and pain at the time of use for the following inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system:

psoriatic arthritis;
gouty arthritis;
rheumatoid arthritis;
ankylosing spondylitis;
osteoarthritis.

The drug does not affect the progression of the disease.

In addition, Arketal Rompharm is used to relieve pain in diseases and conditions such as:

arthralgia;
myalgia;
radiculitis;
ossalgia;
bursitis, tendonitis;
adnexitis;
otitis;

pain with cancerous tumors;

Contraindications

Absolute:

active gastrointestinal bleeding;
inflammatory bowel disease;
peptic ulcer;
exacerbation of ulcerative colitis;
diverticulitis;
confirmed hyperkalemia;
exacerbation of gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer;
active liver disease or severe liver dysfunction;
progressive kidney disease and / or severe renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml / min);

Method of administration and dosage

Arketal Rompharm is injected deeply intramuscularly slowly or intravenously.

With intramuscular administration, the dose of the drug is 100 mg 1 or 2 times a day, with intravenous drip - 100-200 mg. To prepare an infusion solution, the drug is diluted in 100–500 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution. Infusion is carried out only in a hospital setting at a rate of no more than 300 mg per 0.5-1 hour.

The maximum daily dose of ketoprofen is 300 mg.

Arketal Rompharm is used for a short time (no more than 2-3 days). If the need for treatment persists, other dosage forms are used.

For the elderly and patients with renal insufficiency, the drug is prescribed in the minimum effective dose. Regular monitoring of the condition is required, since gastrointestinal bleeding may occur during the use of NSAIDs.

Ketoprofen is light sensitive, so cover the solution bottle or infusion bag with aluminum foil or black paper.

Side effects

During the period of treatment with Arketal Rompharm, it is required to monitor the functional state of the kidneys and liver and the picture of peripheral blood.

Before the procedure for the determination of 17-KS (17-ketosteroids) in the urine 48 hours before the study, ketoprofen should be discontinued.

The drug can mask the symptoms of an infectious disease.

The use of ketoprofen in the minimum effective dose for the shortest possible course helps to reduce the likelihood of adverse reactions from the digestive system.

Drug interactions

Arketal Rompharm enhances the effect of fibrinolytics, antiplatelet agents, ethanol, anticoagulants; reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric, antihypertensive drugs and diuretics; enhances the side reactions of estrogens, mineral and glucocorticoids; increases the hypoglycemic effect of oral hypoglycemic agents and insulin; increases plasma concentrations of nifedipine, verapamil, methotrexate and lithium preparations.

With simultaneous use with ethanol, glucocorticosteroids, corticotropin and other NSAIDs, gastrointestinal bleeding and ulceration may develop, the risk of renal dysfunction increases; with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, phenytoin, ethanol, phenylbutazone and rifampicin - the production of hydroxylated active metabolites increases; with myelotoxic drugs - the hematotoxicity of ketoprofen increases; with valproic acid - platelet aggregation is disturbed; with heparin, cefotetan, thrombolytics, cefamandol, cefoperazone, antiplatelet agents and indirect anticoagulants - the risk of bleeding increases.

Arketal Rompharm is pharmaceutically incompatible with tramadol solution.
