Tablets for sublingual use Anaferon

Anaferon is an antiviral immunomodulatory agent that increases the amount of antibodies, activates the cellular and humoral components of immunity and the formation of interferon.

Release form and composition

Anaferon for adults and Anaferon for children are produced, both drugs are produced in the form of tablets for sublingual use (20 pcs. In blisters, 1 package in a cardboard box).

The preparation contains 3 mg affinity purified antibodies to human interferon gamma.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

When using Anaferon as a prophylactic and therapeutic agent, it exhibits antiviral and immunomodulatory effects. In the course of various experiments and clinical studies, it was found that the drug is effective against respiratory syncytial virus (RS virus), influenza and parainfluenza viruses, adenovirus, herpes simplex viruses of types 1 and 2 (genital herpes, labial herpes), and other herpes viruses (infectious mononucleosis, chickenpox), calicivirus, enterovirus, coronavirus, rotavirus, tick-borne encephalitis virus. The drug reduces the content of the virus in the affected tissues, activates the formation of interferon gamma (IFNγ) and endogenous early interferons (IFNα / β).

The drug is a stimulator of the cellular and humoral immune response, induces the synthesis of antibodies [including secretory immunoglobulin A (IgA)], enhances the functions of T-helpers (Tx) and T-effectors, normalizes their ratio. Anaferon also increases the functional reserve of Tx and other cells responsible for the immune response, is an inducer of a mixed Tx1 and Tx2-type immune response, increases the production of Th1 (IL-2, IFNγ) and Tx2 (IL-4, 10) cytokines, modulates (leads to standard values) the balance of Tx1 / Tx2 activities. The drug increases the functional activity of natural killer cells (NK cells) and phagocytes. It is characterized by antimutagenic properties.

Pharmacokinetics

Modern physicochemical types of analysis (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, high-performance liquid chromatography, gas-liquid chromatography) have a sensitivity that does not allow an accurate assessment of the concentration of Anaferon's active components in organs, tissues and biological fluids.
