Analgin-quinine is a combined analgesic-antipyretic.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - film-coated tablets: round, biconvex, green (10 pcs. In a blister, 2 blisters in a cardboard box).
Active ingredients in 1 tablet:
- Metamizole sodium - 200 mg;
- Quinine hydrochloride - 50 mg.
Auxiliary components: sodium carboxymethyl starch (primogel), talc, kollidon-25 (povidone), microcrystalline cellulose (Avicel PH101), magnesium stearate.
Shell composition: eudragit L 12.5 P (methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate copolymer), glycerol, titanium dioxide, talc, macrogol 400, castor oil, pigment green dye (patented blue dye V E131 and quinoline yellow E104).
Indications for use
- Pain syndrome of various origins, including headache and postoperative pain, algomenorrhea, myositis, arthralgia, neuralgia, myalgia;
- Feverish conditions in infectious and inflammatory diseases;
- Biliary and renal colic (in combination with antispasmodics).
Contraindications
- Diseases accompanied by bronchospasm;
- Asthma caused by taking salicylates or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs);
- Bronchial asthma;
- Severe myasthenia gravis;
- Optic neuritis;
- Hearing loss, diseases of the middle and inner ear;
- Inhibition of hematopoiesis (neutropenia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia);
- Severe liver / kidney dysfunction;
- Hereditary hemolytic anemia caused by glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency;
- Children under 12 years of age;
- Pregnancy and lactation;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components or other pyrazolone derivatives.
Carefully:
- Food, drug and other forms of allergy (including hay fever);
- Granulocytopenia;
- Hypersensitivity to other NSAIDs.
Method of administration and dosage
Analgin-quinine should be taken orally, after meals: swallow the tablets whole and drink plenty of liquid.
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age are prescribed 1-2 tablets 1 to 3 times a day.
For children 12-14 years old, the recommended dose is 1 tablet up to 3 times a day.
If the doctor has not prescribed otherwise, in case of pain syndrome, the drug can be taken for no more than 5 days, with febrile syndrome - no more than 3 days.
Side effects
- From the central and peripheral nervous system: fatigue, dizziness, insomnia, headache, tremors of the limbs;
- From the digestive system: diarrhea, discomfort and pain in the abdomen and epigastric region, nausea, vomiting: rarely - ulceration of the mucous membrane and bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract;
- Allergic reactions: sometimes - urticaria, itching, enanthema, eczema, angioedema; rarely - anaphylactic shock; in some cases - bronchospastic syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, malignant exudative erythema;
- From the hematopoietic system: agranulocytosis, leukopenia, hypoprothrombinemia;
- From the side of the cardiovascular system: palpitations, angina pectoris, fainting;
- From the urinary system: water and electrolyte retention, renal dysfunction (including anuria, oliguria, proteinuria);
- From the senses: visual impairment (decreased visual fields, scotoma, diplopia, photophobia, impaired color vision, blurred vision), tinnitus, hearing impairment;
- Others: increased body temperature.
special instructions
With long-term treatment (more than 7 days), it is necessary to control the peripheral blood picture.
The drug should not be administered concurrently with penicillin, colloidal blood substitutes and radiopaque contrast agents.
Can be used concurrently with vitamins, antibiotics and chemotherapeutic agents.
If side effects develop, the patient should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.
Until the cause is clarified, Analgin-Quinine should not be used for acute abdominal pain.
In patients with pollinosis and bronchial asthma, hypersensitivity reactions may develop.
During treatment, it is recommended to refrain from driving a car and performing other potentially hazardous activities that require speed of reactions and increased attention.
Drug interactions
- Other analgesics-antipyretics: there is a mutual increase in toxic effects;
- Sedatives, tranquilizers: the analgesic effect of metamizole sodium is enhanced;
- Phenylbutazone, barbiturates: the effect of metamizole sodium is weakened;
- Means that block neuromuscular transmission: their action is potentiated;
- Cimetidine: clearance decreases and the half-life of quinine increases;
- Allopurinol, tricyclic antidepressants and oral contraceptives: metabolism of metamizole sodium in the liver is disturbed, its toxicity increases;
- Cyclosporin: decreases in its level in the blood;
- Digoxin: its concentration in blood plasma increases, the effect is enhanced;
- Thiamazole, sarcolysin: the risk of developing leukopenia increases;
- Glucocorticosteroids, indirect anticoagulants, oral hypoglycemic drugs, indomethacin: their effect is enhanced;
- Microsomal oxidation inducers: metabolism accelerates and analgin-quinine efficiency decreases;
- Inhibitors of microsomal oxidation: increases the effectiveness of the drug and the risk of developing its side effects;
- Ethanol-containing preparations / drinks: their effect is enhanced;
- Codeine, propranolol: the action of Analgin-quinine is enhanced.
