How to do eye exercises correctly

According to static studies, about 30% of the world's population have squint, astigmatism, myopia or hyperopia. The consequences of laser eye surgery can be quite unpredictable, and eye exercises are a good alternative to surgical intervention.

Charging the eyes with myopia

Scientists at the Vienna Medical University conducted research and found that in the age group from 14 to 19 years old there is an increase in myopia. The researchers do not exclude the fact that computer games and computer work in general affect vision even more negatively than reading printed letters. Therefore, exercise will be useful for those who edit articles, make sketches, and rewrite text. Exercising your eyes will help avoid fatigue, redness and sore eyes.

Exercising for the eyes with myopia will help not only relieve eye strain, but also develop the eye muscles. During charging, certain eye movements are performed to help strengthen the muscles of the eyeballs, stimulate pupil activity and increase the ability to concentrate. With regular charging, vision will improve by about two diopters in a very short time.

To prevent deterioration of vision due to continuous work at the computer, you need to take a break every forty-five minutes, relax and look into the distance for fifteen minutes. During work, it is necessary to monitor the lighting of the workplace - no shadow should fall there. It is very harmful to sit for a long time in a bent position; you cannot bend your shoulders forward. The distance from the eyes to the screen should be about fifty centimeters, and about thirty centimeters to the sheet. To rest, you need to close your eyes for two minutes. After that, do a complex exercise for the eyes, connecting muscles that did not work before. Charging for the eyes with myopia should be done at least three times a day.

How to do eye exercises

To improve vision, it is best to move the eyeballs horizontally (right to left and vice versa), and then vertically (up and down). After that, you should perform circular movements with the eyeballs (clockwise and counterclockwise), and then blink quickly and with effort. It is also very useful to perform diagonal movements of the eyeballs. To do this, you need to squint your eyes to the lower left corner, and then diagonally move your gaze to the upper right corner and vice versa. To restore vision, draw a small point on the window at eye level, and then approach the window and look into the distance, and then move your gaze to the point on the window. And vice versa. Each of the exercises must be repeated at least six times.

For charging eyes with myopia, the following exercises are suitable:

1. Lean back, take a deep breath, then lean forward and exhale.

2. Lean on the back of a chair and close your eyes tightly, and then open your eyelids.

3. Put your hands on your waist, turn your head to the right side, look at the elbow of your right hand, turn your head to the left, look at the elbow of your left hand.

4. Look up without raising your head, make circular movements with your eyes, first clockwise and then counterclockwise.

The following eye exercises will help relieve eye fatigue:

  • Look straight ahead in front of you for a few seconds. Fix your finger at a distance of 30 cm from the eyes, look at it for a few seconds, and then look into the distance again. Repeat 10-12 times.
  • Move the pencil from the tip of the nose to the distance of an outstretched arm and in the opposite direction, observing its movement. Repeat 10-12 times.
  • Open your eyes and slowly, in the rhythm of breathing, smoothly write the number eight with your eyes in the air, vertically, horizontally and diagonally. Repeat seven times.
  • Fix the index finger at a distance of 30 cm from the eyes, look at the end of the finger for several seconds, close one eye for five seconds, then look again with two open eyes, close the other eye. Repeat ten times. Regular eye exercises will help preserve and even restore vision.
  • Extend your arms at eye level and look at the thumb of your right hand for about six seconds, and then, smoothly moving your hand to the right side, observe the finger with your gaze, without moving your head. Repeat the same with the right hand. Repeat seven times.
  • Take a deep breath, close your eyes, while straining your neck muscles, head muscles and facial muscles. Hold the inhalation for a few seconds, then exhale quickly and open your eyes completely. Repeat at least five times.
  • Close the eyelids, massage the brow ridges and the lower parts of the eye sockets from the temples to the nose in a circular motion.
  • Close eyes. Rotate the eyeballs from left to right and right to left. Repeat ten times.
  • Put your fingertips on the temples, squeeze them slightly. It's easy and quick to blink ten times. Then close your eyes and rest, inhale deeply a couple of times. Repeat three times.

Charging for the eyes will take no more than twenty minutes, and the benefits of it are difficult to underestimate.
