The active component of Pedilin is malathion - an agent belonging to the group of organophosphorus insecticides (substances that destroy arthropod parasites).
Malathion is a contact and nerve poison that is effective against lice and nits.
The drug easily penetrates through the chitinous cover, reaches high concentrations in the insect's body, irreversibly inhibits the enzyme cholinesterase and forms a covalent bond with it. Lice and nits die due to self-poisoning with acetylcholine.

Contraindications
It is contraindicated to use the product in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Instructions for the use of Pedilin: method and dosage
Emulsion and Pedilin shampoo are applied externally, avoiding contact with mucous membranes (nose, mouth or eyes).
A solution (emulsion) is abundantly moisturized hair, with a cotton swab rubbed into the roots. The consumption of the drug depends on the length and thickness of the hair; one procedure may require from 10 to 60 ml. After processing the scalp, cover it with a kerchief for a few minutes, then rinse the hair well.
For moderate lice it is enough to use only shampoo. Moisturize hair, apply 10-60 ml of shampoo on it, massage for 5 minutes, then rinse the scalp and hair thoroughly. If necessary, repeat the procedure in a week.
With severe lice, shampoo is used in combination with an emulsion:
- Apply Pedilin emulsion with a cotton swab on the scalp, tie the head with a scarf, after half an hour rinse the hair well with water;
- Apply shampoo, lather hair well for 3 minutes, rinse thoroughly with water, repeat the procedure;
- Comb wet hair with a thick comb to remove lice and nits.
Hair brushes and combs should also be treated with Pedilin shampoo. Be sure to change bedding and underwear, change towels.
