Glucosamine is a preparation for stimulating the processes of cartilage tissue regeneration.
Release form and composition
Dosage forms:
- powder for preparation of solution for oral administration: granular mass of white or white with a yellow tinge (4 g each: in a heat-sealable bag, in a cardboard box 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 100 bags; in a polyethylene terephthalate jar, in a cardboard box 1 bank);

4 g of powder contains:
- active substance: glucosamine sulfate sodium chloride - 1.884 g, which is equivalent to 1.5 g of glucosamine sulfate;
- auxiliary components: citric acid monohydrate, sorbitol, macrogol 4000.
The active substance of the tablets is glucosamine sulfate, in 1 tablet its content is 0.75 g.
Indications for use
The use of Glucosamine is indicated for pain syndrome against the background of arthrosis and osteoarthritis of the spine and peripheral joints.
Contraindications
- severe renal dysfunction;
- phenylketonuria;
- period of pregnancy;
- breast-feeding;
- age up to 15 years;
- individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Method of administration and dosage
Powder for oral solution
The powder is intended for oral administration after dissolving in water in the proportion: 4 g (1 packet) of the drug - 200 ml of water.
The doctor prescribes the dose and period of use individually based on clinical indications.
Recommended dosage: 1 packet of powder 1 time per day, course duration - 6 weeks.
To achieve a stable therapeutic effect, it is possible to extend the course of therapy.
If necessary, after an 8-week break, the drug treatment is repeated.
Film-coated tablets
The tablets are taken orally during meals with plenty of water.
The doctor determines the dose and duration of treatment.
Recommended dosage: 2 pcs. per day, course duration - 6 weeks.
To achieve a stable therapeutic effect, it is possible to extend the course of therapy.
If necessary, after an 8-week break, the drug treatment is repeated.
Side effects

Drug interactions
With the simultaneous use of Glucosamine:
- tetracyclines can enhance their intestinal absorption;
- chloramphenicol, penicillin antibiotics reduce their absorption;

- corticosteroids reduce their negative effect on cartilage tissue.
