Fervex for children is a combined drug that contains paracetamol, ascorbic acid and pheniramine maleate.

Paracetamol is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It acts on the centers of thermoregulation and pain by blocking cyclooxygenases (mainly in the central nervous system). It has antipyretic and analgesic effects. Anti-inflammatory properties are poorly expressed.

Ascorbic acid regulates oxidation and reduction processes. It reduces the permeability of blood vessels and increases the overall resistance of the body.

Pheniramine maleate is a blocker of H1-histamine receptors. It narrows the vessels in the nasal cavity, eliminates hyperemia and swelling of the nasal mucosa, nasopharynx and sinuses.

Pharmacokinetics

Paracetamol is completely and quickly absorbed. In 30-60 minutes after taking the drug, the maximum concentration is observed in the blood plasma. Rapid tissue distribution. Paracetamol concentrations in plasma, blood and saliva are comparable. Plasma proteins bind no more than 10-25%. Passes through the blood-brain barrier. Paracetamol metabolism occurs in the liver. About 80% conjugates with sulfates and glucuronic acid to form inactive metabolites; approximately 17% is hydroxylated to form 8 pharmacologically active metabolites, which then enter into conjugation reactions with glutathione, resulting in the formation of inactive metabolites. Indications for use

Contraindications

Absolute:

• severe kidney and / or liver dysfunction;

Fervex powder for children is taken orally. Before use, the contents of one sachet are dissolved in 200 ml of warm water.
