Travisil is a combined herbal remedy with expectorant, anti-inflammatory and mucolytic action.

Release form and composition

• orange, lemon, honey and mint lozenges: round, engraved with "T" on both sides, with a characteristic odor, from light orange to dark orange with a brownish tint (orange tablets), from light yellow to dark yellow with a brownish shade (lemon tablets), from light brown to dark brown (honey tablets), from light green to dark green with a brownish tint (mint tablets) (8 pcs. in blisters, 2 blisters in a cardboard box);
• Sugar-free lozenges orange, lemon, mint and blackcurrant: oval, biconvex, translucent, with a rough surface, orange (orange tablets), yellow (lemon tablets), green (mint tablets), bluish-purple (tablets blackcurrant), with a characteristic smell; slight unevenness, uneven coloring, the presence of small chips of edges and air bubbles in the caramel mass, the appearance of a white dusting bloom (6 pcs. in blisters, 2 blisters in a cardboard box);
• syrup: green, with a fruity smell (10, 60 or 100 ml in plastic bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box);
• oral solution: green, with a pleasant aroma (100 ml in plastic bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box);

• dry extract of ordinary fennel fruits (Foeniculum vulgare) - 18 mg;
• dry extract of acacia catechu bark (Acacia catechu) - 17 mg;
• dry extract of the fruits of the drug emblica (Emblica officinalis) - 16 mg;
• dry extract of rhizomes of turmeric long (Curcuma longa) - 15 mg;

Excipients of tablets: liquid dextrose, sucrose, orange oil, or lemon oil, or honey flavoring, or mint oil.

Excipients of sugar-free tablets: isomalt-base (without sugar), peppermint oil, acesulfame potassium, as well as in orange tablets: peppermint oil, orange oil, eucalyptus leaf oil, sunset yellow dyes and azorubin; in lemon tablets: eucalyptus leaf oil, lemon oil, ginger oil, quinoline yellow dye, pineapple and lemon flavors; in mint tablets: camphor, levomenthol, aspartame, eucalyptus leaf oil, quinoline yellow and blue dyes; in blackcurrant tablets: blackcurrant flavor, patented blue and azorubin dyes.

Excipients of the syrup: purified water, sucrose, sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (sodium propylparaben), sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (sodium methylparaben).

Excipients of the solution: purified water, 70% sorbitol solution, sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Excipients of the ointment: petroleum jelly, liquid paraffin and solid paraffin.

Indications for use

Travisil is a phytopreparation for the symptomatic treatment of respiratory diseases, accompanied by a cough with difficult to separate sputum.

Contraindications

• tendency to bronchospasm;
• pregnancy;
• lactation;
• hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

In the form of an ointment, Travisil should not be used in the presence of skin diseases or damage to the skin in the places where the drug is supposed to be applied.

Use in pediatrics: lozenges are contraindicated in children under 6 years of age, syrup - up to 1 year, sugar-free lozenges and oral solution - up to 18 years, ointment - up to 2 years.

Method of administration and dosage

Ointment for external use

Travisil should be applied to the skin of the wings of the nose - for nasal congestion and a runny nose, on the skin of the temporal region - for headaches.

The frequency of use is 2 times a day.

The duration of treatment is up to 7 days.

Syrup

In this dosage form, Travisil should be taken orally: swallowed and washed down with water.

Standard single doses:

• adults and adolescents from 12 years old - 1–2 tsp. (teaspoons);
• children 5-12 years old - 1 tsp;
• children 1–5 years old - ½ tsp.

The frequency of admission is 3 times a day.

Duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks. In some cases, the doctor may recommend to increase the duration of therapy or to repeat the course.

Oral solution

In this dosage form, Travisil should be taken orally: swallowed and washed down with water.

Adult patients are prescribed 1–2 tsp. 3 times a day for 2-3 weeks. In some cases, the doctor may recommend to increase the duration of therapy or to repeat the course.

Lozenges

In this dosage form, Travisil should be absorbed in the mouth until it is completely dissolved.

Standard single doses:

• adults and adolescents from 12 years old - 1-2 tablets;
• children 6–12 years old - 1 tablet.

The frequency of admission is 3 times a day.

Duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks. In some cases, the doctor may recommend to increase the duration of therapy or to repeat the course.

Sugar-free lozenges

In this dosage form, Travisil should be absorbed in the mouth.

Side effects

Travisil is generally well tolerated. In rare cases, allergic reactions occur.

Sucrose in lozenges and syrup Travisil, which should be warned patients with diabetes mellitus and patients who adhere to a hypocaloric diet.

Shake the bottle well before taking the syrup. During transportation, sugar may crystallize or a colored spot may form on the surface, these phenomena do not affect the quality of the drug, they disappear after shaking the bottle. When frozen, the effectiveness of the drug does not decrease.

Travisil tablets, syrup and solution should not be used concurrently with antitussive drugs and drugs that reduce the formation of sputum.
