Ebermin is an ointment with a complex wound healing and bactericidal effect. Contains human epidermal growth factor recombinant. Ebermin stimulates the processes of migration and proliferation of fibroblasts, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, as well as other cells that are actively involved in wound healing, epithelialization, scarring and restoration of tissue elasticity. Recombinant endothelial growth factor is obtained from recombinant DNA. The mechanism of action of this substance is similar to that of endogenous epithelial RF. Ebermin also contains silver sulfadiazine, which has antimicrobial activity. It is active against gram-positive, gram-negative microorganisms, fungi, dermatophytes. Ebermin's hydrophilic base provides some dehydrating effect, has an analgesic effect,creates a therapeutic concentration of active substances in the affected area. Positive reviews about Ebermine are also supported by its cosmetic effect, in particular - the ability to improve the aesthetics of the scar by normalizing the maturation and orientation of collagen fibers, while preventing pathological scarring, the formation of contractures, and keloids.
Indications for Ebermin's use
According to the instructions for Ebermin, this drug is indicated for:
• superficial, deep burns of varying severity;
• trophic ulcers (with obliterating endarteritis, chronic venous insufficiency, erysipelas, diabetes mellitus);
• bedsores;
• long-term non-healing wounds (stump wounds, during autodermatoplasty in the lysis zone, as well as between the engrafted skin flaps, residual wounds in the area of donor sites);
• violation of the integrity of the skin during surgical, cosmetic procedures, injuries;
• frostbite;
• ulcers when using cytostatics;
• radiation dermatitis, including after radiation therapy.
Contraindications to the use of Ebermin
According to the instructions for Ebermin, contraindications to its use are hypersensitivity to components, age up to 1 year, pregnancy, lactation. Ebermin should not be used in the area of active tumor lesion, as well as to stimulate scar formation in the area of tumor excision.
Method of application, dosage
Ebermin is used topically. It is possible to use the drug at any stage of the wound process. Before applying the ointment, a preliminary standard wound treatment is carried out using antiseptics (in case of infection). After drying the wound surface with a spatula, a layer of ointment 1-2 mm thick is applied. With a closed therapy method, a sterile napkin or occlusive materials are applied on top. In case of severe exudation, as well as in the case of a wet method of treatment, it is recommended to bandage the wound once a day. For bandage-free (open) treatment, it is recommended to apply Ebermin three times a day.
Before reapplication of the ointment, the wound is cleaned with antiseptics or saline. In this case, trauma to the young epithelium and granulation tissue should be avoided.
Treatment with Ebermin is continued until the wound is completely epithelized or ready for closure with a skin flap.
For the prevention of radiation dermatitis, Ebermin is applied to the irradiated area of the skin twice a day, without removing it from the application site 6-8 hours after the irradiation. The duration of treatment in this case corresponds to the duration of the course of radiation therapy. Do not stop using the ointment if you miss the next radiation session.
Side effect
Ebermin is well tolerated. There have been cases of allergic reactions, as well as burning sensations, pain, discomfort, constriction in the places where the ointment was applied. These phenomena disappear on their own 10 minutes after applying a bandage to the affected area.

Due to the presence of silver sulfadiazine in the composition of Ebermin, it should be used with caution in congenital insufficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, kidney and liver pathology. In case of non-bandage treatment, it is recommended to avoid sun exposure on the area covered with ointment.
