Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of a dental gel (15 g each in an aluminum tube, 1 tube in a cardboard box and instructions for use of Cholisal Dental).
1 g of gel contains:
- active ingredients: anhydrous choline salicylate - 87.1 mg; cetalkonium chloride - 0.1 mg;
- auxiliary components: glycerin, anise oil, ethyl alcohol, hydroxyethyl cellulose, propyloxybenzoate, methyloxybenzoate, purified water.

Pharmacodynamics
Cholisal Dental is a drug for topical use in the oral cavity for the purpose of therapy and prevention of diseases of infectious-inflammatory, ulcerative-necrotic etiology.
Has anti-inflammatory local, antimicrobial, analgesic effect. The therapeutic effect of the gel is due to the following properties of the active ingredients:
- choline salicylate: has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects. In addition, it has an antimicrobial and antifungal effect, which manifests itself in an acidic and alkaline environment. Choline salicylate inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenase, inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, inhibits the functions of macrophages and neutrophils, and slows down the production of interleukin-1. The analgesic effect comes on quickly and lasts for 2-8 hours;
- cetalkonium chloride: an antiseptic that exhibits pharmacological activity against bacteria, viruses, fungal infections.

After application to the oral mucosa, absorption of the gel occurs quickly.
Indications for use
Dental gel Cholisal Dental is used as part of complex therapy for the following diseases and conditions of the oral mucosa of infectious-inflammatory, ulcerative-necrotic and trophic genesis:
- stomatitis of various etiologies;
- periodontitis;
- gingivitis;
- injuries, including damage to the mucous membrane caused by wearing dentures;
- glandular cheilitis;
- lichen planus;
- thrush;
- erythema multiforme exudative (including Stevens-Jones syndrome);
- minor surgical interventions.
In addition, the drug is used to reduce pain during teething in children, prevent bleeding, swelling and soreness of the gums.
Contraindications
The use of Cholisal Dental is contraindicated in case of established hypersensitivity to salicylates or other components of the gel.
The gel should be used with caution and only as directed by a doctor during pregnancy and lactation.
Cholisal Dental, instructions for use: method and dosage
The gel is intended for topical application in the oral cavity by rubbing into the affected area of the mucous membrane with light massaging movements.
Recommended dosage:
- adults: 1 cm long gel column;
- children: a column of gel 0.5 cm long.
The procedure is carried out 2-3 times a day, after meals and before bedtime, for the purpose of pain relief - before meals.
The gel should only be applied and rubbed in with clean hands.
For the treatment of periodontal diseases, in addition to gentle rubbing into the gums 1-2 times a day, the introduction of the gel into the gingival pockets and application in the form of compresses is indicated.
Side effects
- possible: the occurrence of allergic reactions;
- sometimes: short-term slight burning sensation - in the treatment of acute injuries of the oral mucosa.

Overdose symptoms have not been established.
