Indications for use of Prestarium

Prestarium instruction: method of application
Prestarium is taken once a day, in the morning, before meals.
For hypertension, patients are prescribed Prestarium at a dosage of 5 mg at the beginning of treatment. If after a month the pressure does not return to normal, the dose can be increased to 10 mg.
In order to prevent a sharp drop in blood pressure, diuretics should be discontinued three days before starting treatment, if they have been prescribed. In heart failure, the drug is often prescribed simultaneously with beta-blockers, digoxin. The permissible starting dose is 2.5 mg. The dosage is increased to 5 mg after 2 weeks.
If a patient with heart failure has a tendency to develop hypotension, during treatment, kidney function, blood pressure, and potassium content in the blood are monitored.
To prevent recurrent stroke, patients who have been diagnosed with cerebrovascular disease in the past are prescribed Prestarium at a dosage of 2.5 mg. The drug is taken for two weeks, after which the patient is prescribed indapamide. For the prevention of cardiovascular complications in stable ischemia, the drug is taken for two weeks at 5 mg per day. After two weeks, the dosage is increased to 10 mg.
Elderly patients take 2.5 mg of Prestarium for 7 days, after which they switch to 5 mg, and after another week, with normal kidney condition, they begin to take 10 mg once a day.
