Pikovit forte 7+ is a multivitamin for children aged 7+.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - coated tablets: round, biconvex, from light orange to dark orange, possibly inclusions (15 pcs. In blisters, in a cardboard box 2 blisters and instructions for use Pikovit forte 7+).

Active ingredients in 1 coated tablet:

• ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - 60 mg;
• alpha-tocopherol acetate, 50% granulate (contains 50% DL-a-tocopherol acetate in a gelatin-carbohydrate matrix) (vitamin E) - 30 mg;
• nicotinamide - 20 mg;
• calcium pantothenate - 10 mg;
• cyanocobalamin 0.1% in mannitol (E421) (vitamin B ₁₂) - 6 mg;
• retinol palmitate concentrate [synthetic, oily form (1.7 MMU / g); contains retinol palmitate, butylhydroxytoluene and butylhydroxyanisole] (vitamin A) - 2.94 mg;
• pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B ₆) - 2 mg;
• riboflavin (vitamin B ₂) - 1.7 mg;
• thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B ₁) - 1.5 mg;
• folic acid - 0.4 mg;

• ascorbic acid takes part in many redox processes in the body, improves the absorption of iron;
• colecalciferol regulates calcium intake, which is necessary for proper mineralization of teeth and bones;
• α-tocopherol acetate is a physiological antioxidant that supports cell function and protects cell membranes;
• folic acid is involved in the synthesis, regeneration and functioning of blood cells.

Pikovit forte 7+ tablets do not contain sugar.

Pharmacokinetics

Water-soluble vitamins (biotin, vitamin C and B vitamins) are well absorbed in quantities that meet the daily needs of the body. Excessive amounts (exceeding the level of tissue saturation) are excreted mainly in the urine, to a lesser extent in the feces. To maintain the required tissue concentrations, it is important to take these vitamins on a regular basis, since they accumulate in the body in limited quantities.

Fat-soluble vitamins A and D are well absorbed in the small intestine in the presence of fat.

The absorption of vitamin E (α-tocopherol acetate) is relatively weak (25 to 85% of the dose).

Indications for use

Pikovit forte 7+ is recommended for children from 7 years of age under conditions / situations accompanied by an increased need for vitamins, including in the following cases:

• decreased appetite;
• increased physical activity (including sports);
• decreased concentration of attention due to increased fatigue in schoolchildren;
• insufficient consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits (due to seasonality);
• taking antibiotics.

Contraindications

• hypervitaminosis A and D;
• phenylketonuria;
• age up to 7 years;
• hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Pikovit forte 7+ should be taken orally, after meals, holding the tablet in the mouth until it is completely dissolved.

Children aged 7 years and older are prescribed 1 tablet 1 time per day for 1 month. In case of poor appetite, it is recommended to increase the duration of admission to 2 months.

Side effects

Pikovit forte 7+ is well tolerated. In rare cases, it can cause the development of allergic reactions, which requires discontinuation of the drug.

Overdose

If the recommended dose is exceeded, diarrhea is possible.

In case of an overdose due to taking high doses of the drug for a long time (more than 1 month), there is a possibility of developing hypervitaminosis of vitamins A and D.

Vitamin B ₆ in the case of prolonged use in high doses can cause the development of peripheral neuropathy.
