Release form and composition
Dosage form - solution for subcutaneous administration: colorless, transparent, odorless [1 ml in ampoules, 5 or 10 ampoules in a carton pack with a dividing snake or 5 ampoules in blister strip packs, in a carton pack 1 or 2 packs (if using ampoules without a break point or a break ring, an ampoule scarifier is inserted into the pack)].
Active ingredient: taktivin (thymus extract), in 1 ampoule - 0.1 mg.
Auxiliary components: sodium chloride, water for injection.
Indications for use
Immunodeficiency states in adults and children from 6 months, arising from the following diseases:
- multiple sclerosis;
- infectious purulent and septic processes;
- shingles;
- recurrent ophthalmic herpes;
- psoriasis;
- tuberculosis;
- dermatitis and dermatoses;
- malignant neoplasms;
- lymphoproliferative diseases (lymphogranulomatosis, lymphocytic leukemia);
- persistent dysfunction of the thymus (tumors or surgical removal of the thymus, radiation sickness);
- frequently recurring acute respiratory viral diseases (ARVI);
- chronic nonspecific lung disease;
- urological diseases of infectious etiology;
- chronic viral hepatitis;
- thymomegaly;
- surgical interventions (in the preoperative and postoperative periods).
Contraindications
Taktivin is contraindicated in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Method of administration and dosage
The drug is administered subcutaneously at night.
Adults are usually prescribed 1 ml 1 time per day. The course of treatment is 5-14 days. If necessary, therapy is continued for a month, 2 ml is injected once every 3 days.
Recommended dosage regimens for adults in selected cases:
- shingles: 1 ml for 7-10 days, if necessary at intervals of 2-3 weeks, repeat courses are prescribed;
- persistent immunity disorders: the first 5-14 days - 2 ml daily, during the next 6 months - 2 ml twice a week. If necessary, repeat courses are prescribed;
- hepatitis of various etiology: 2-3 ml per day for 10-12 days in combination therapy. After 7 days, the course is repeated;
- multiple sclerosis: the first 5 days of treatment - 1 ml daily, then, for life - 2 ml twice a week. In severe cases of the disease, complex therapy is carried out in combination with glucocorticosteroids (1 time per day), in this case, the basic drug is administered in the morning, and Taktivin - in the evening (10-12 hours after the administration of glucocorticosteroids), 1 ml;
- malignant neoplasms: 1 ml per day for 5–6-day courses in between courses of basic therapy;
- surgical interventions: 1 ml for two days before the operation and within 5-14 days after it;
- recurrent ophthalmic herpes: 1 ml subcutaneously daily for 7-10 days, or 0.1 ml under the conjunctiva 1 time per day for 4-5 days.
For children aged 6 months to 14 years, the dose of Taktivin is calculated taking into account body weight - 0.002–0.003 mg / kg. The drug is administered in the evening (optimally between 17 and 20 hours).
With frequent ARVI, purulent-septic infections, complicated herpesvirus, atopic dermatitis, Taktivin is prescribed as part of a combination therapy, administered daily for 7-10 days, then, for 1-2 weeks - every other day.
With hepatitis and malignant neoplasms, the treatment regimen for children does not differ from that for adults.
