Tonsilgon N is a herbal preparation that has an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect, increases nonspecific resistance of the body.
Release form and composition
Dosage forms:
- dragee: round biconvex, light blue (25 pcs. in a blister, in a cardboard box 2 or 4 blisters);
- drops for oral administration: transparent or slightly turbid liquid (during storage, a slight precipitate is allowed), yellowish-brown with a chamomile smell (50 ml or 100 ml each in dark glass vials with a dropping dispenser, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).
1 tablet contains:
- active ingredients: walnut leaves - 0.012 g, horsetail herb - 0.01 g, marshmallow roots - 0.008 g, yarrow herb - 0.004 g, medicinal dandelion herb - 0.004 g, oak bark - 0.004 g, chamomile flowers - 0.006 g;
- excipients: stearic acid, maize starch, lactose, potato starch, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, dextrose (glucose) monohydrate;
- shell composition: sucrose, modified maize starch, glucose syrup, calcium carbonate, maize starch, poly (1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) K25, montan glycol wax, poly (1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) K30, indigotin, castor oil, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, shellac, titanium dioxide, talc.
100 g of drops contain:
- active ingredients: aqueous-alcoholic extract from a mixture of medicinal plants - 29 g, including: walnut leaves - 0.4 g, horsetail herb - 0.5 g, marshmallow roots - 0.4 g, yarrow herb - 0.4 g, oak bark - 0.2 g, medicinal dandelion herb - 0.4 g, chamomile flowers - 0.3 g;
- excipient: purified water.
Indications for use
- monotherapy of acute and chronic forms of upper respiratory tract diseases: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis;
- bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract - as part of complex therapy with antibiotics;
- respiratory viral infections - as a prevention of complications.
Contraindications
Do not use Tonsilgon N with individual intolerance to the components of the drug, including plants of the Asteraceae family.
In addition, there are separate contraindications for each of the dosage forms.
Dragee
- lactose and / or fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, sucrase-isomaltase or lactase deficiency;
- age up to 6 years.
Oral drops
- alcoholism, including the period after anti-alcohol treatment;
- age up to 1 year.
With caution, drops should be taken in case of liver diseases, traumatic brain injury, brain pathology, children over 1 year old (due to the content of ethyl alcohol, the drug can only be used as directed by a doctor).
Method of administration and dosage
Dragee
Dragee is taken orally, swallowing whole, washed down with water if necessary.
Recommended dosage regimen:
- acute period of the disease: adults - 2 pcs. 5-6 times a day, children over 6 years old - 1 piece. 5-6 times a day;
- period after the disappearance of acute sore throat: adults - 2 pcs. 3 times a day, children over 6 years old - 1 pc. 3 times a day. The treatment continues for another 7 days.
Oral drops
Drops in undiluted form are taken orally, holding in the mouth for a while before swallowing.
Recommended dosage:
- acute period of the disease: adults - 25 drops, children over 6 years old - 15 drops each, children aged 1–6 years - 10 drops each, the frequency of administration is 5–6 times a day;
- the period after the removal of acute symptoms of the disease (sore throat): adults - 25 drops, children over 6 years old - 15 drops each, children aged 1-6 years - 10 drops each, the frequency of administration - 3 times a day. Duration of admission is 7 days.
Shake the contents of the bottle before use.
Side effects
Against the background of the use of Tonsilgon N, the development of allergic reactions, undesirable effects from the gastrointestinal tract in the form of nausea, vomiting is possible.
When the first symptoms of an allergic reaction appear, the drug should be discontinued.

In the absence of a therapeutic effect or deterioration of the patient's condition after 7 days of using the drug, you should consult a doctor.
Patients with diabetes mellitus should take into account the content of less than 0.03 bread units in 1 tablet.
Slight turbidity of the solution or the appearance of a precipitate in it does not affect the quality and effectiveness of drops.
Once opened, the bottle should be stored upright.
Since the content of absolute ethyl alcohol in 25 drops (maximum single dose) is 0.21 g, during the treatment period, care should be taken both when driving vehicles and when performing potentially hazardous types of work that require concentration of attention and high speed of psychomotor reactions.
The use of pills does not affect the patient's ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.
Drug interactions
Use in combination with antibacterial agents is possible and advisable.
The interaction of Tonsilgon N with other drugs has not been established.
