Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is produced in the body by the conversion of cysteine. It stimulates the processes of regeneration and repair in dystrophic diseases and diseases that are accompanied by a sharp metabolic disorder in the tissues of the eye.
Taurine helps to activate metabolic and energy processes, normalize the function of cell membranes and maintain the electrolyte balance of the cytoplasm. This is due to the accumulation of calcium and potassium ions and the improvement of conditions for the conduction of nerve impulses.
Pharmacokinetics
With topical application of eye drops, systemic absorption of taurine is low.
