Weakap is a laxative drug.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - drops for oral administration: slightly viscous, colorless or slightly colored transparent liquid (15 ml in a dark glass dropper bottle or 10 ml in a polymer dropper bottle, 1 dropper bottle in a cardboard box).

Composition of 1 ml drops:

  • active substance: sodium picosulfate - 7.5 mg;
  • auxiliary components: sorbitol, propylene glycol, water for injection.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

The effect of the drug is due to the ability of its active substance, sodium picosulfate, to reduce the absorption of electrolytes and water and enhance intestinal motility.

The active ingredient undergoes hydrolysis and the influence of intestinal microorganisms, which leads to the formation of an active form that excites the nervous structures of the intestinal wall and increases the rate of movement of the contents through the intestines.

The effect of the drug occurs 10-12 hours after taking it.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and does not undergo hepatic-intestinal circulation.

Indications for use

  • atonic constipation;
  • regulation of stool for hemorrhoids, proctitis, anus fissures;
  • preparation for surgical interventions, instrumental and X-ray examinations.

Contraindications

Absolute:

  • intestinal obstruction;
  • strangulated hernia;
  • inflammatory diseases of the abdominal organs in the acute stage;
  • peritonitis;
