Samprost is a medicinal product of animal origin for parenteral use, used in the treatment of diseases of the prostate gland.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - lyophilisate for preparation of a solution for intramuscular administration: lyophilized mass in the form of powder, lumps or tablets, from white to white with a yellowish tint (10 vials with lyophilisate in a cardboard box; 5 vials with lyophilisate and 5 ampoules with solvent in complete with a scarifier or ampoule knife, 1 set in a cardboard box; each box also contains instructions for using Samprost).
1 bottle with lyophilisate contains active ingredients:
- a preparation of polypeptide nature, extracted from prostate tissue of sexually mature bulls and bulls - 5 mg;
- glycine - 10 mg.
1 ampoule with a solvent contains a solution of isotonic sodium chloride 0.9% - 2 ml.
Pharmacological properties
Biologically active peptides of the prostate gland of sexually mature bulls and bulls, which are part of Samprost, affect the male genitourinary system as follows:
- help to reduce prostate edema, reduce thrombosis of its venules and leukocyte infiltration;
- normalize the secretory function of the prostatic epithelium;
- stimulate the muscle tone of the bladder;
- increase the content of lecithin grains in the secretion of acini.
In addition, Samprost has antiplatelet activity and reduces the formation of blood clots.
Indications for use
Samprost is indicated for use in adult patients for the treatment of chronic prostatitis, as well as complications after surgery on the prostate gland.
Contraindications
Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Samprost solution is administered intramuscularly.
The following dosing regimen is recommended: 5-10 mg 1 time / day; the duration of the course of therapy is 5-10 days.
To dilute the lyophilisate, you can use the following solutions, in a volume of 1 ml:
- sodium chloride solution 0.9%;
- procaine solution 0.25-0.5%;
- water for injections.
A repeated course, if necessary, can be carried out after 1-6 months, after consulting a doctor.
