Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of an ophthalmic moisturizing solution (10 ml in a plastic dropper bottle, 1 bottle in a cardboard box).
Solution composition:
- active substances: sodium salt of hyaluronic acid 0.15%; boric acid;
- additional components: calcium chloride dihydrate, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, sodium chloride, purified water, Oxide 0.06%.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Oksial is a moisturizing ophthalmic solution containing 0.15% hyaluronic acid. This active substance is obtained by fermentation, and not by isolation from animal raw materials. Its activity is lengthened and optimized as a result of the synergistic effect of the film-forming polymer component of the tread.
The presence of electrolytes in the preparation (potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium chlorides), which ensure the course of biochemical processes in cells, as well as a slightly reduced isotonicity of the solution, contribute to the maintenance of physiological conditions on the surface of the eyes.
Preservative system Oxide in the composition of the ophthalmic agent, upon contact with the cornea, is transformed into water, oxygen and sodium chloride. These substances, found in the lacrimal fluid under natural conditions, do not have a negative effect on the mucous membrane of the eye and help maintain the healthy state of epithelial cells.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Oksial is recommended for use to moisturize the eyes in the following conditions:
- dryness, irritation and fatigue of the eyes resulting from prolonged exposure to a computer monitor and TV screen, as well as stress and negative environmental influences, such as air conditioning, dust, smoke and air pollution, and other external factors;
- discomfort caused by wearing soft and hard contact lenses.
Contraindications
The use of an ophthalmic moisturizing solution is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to any of its constituents.
Instructions for the use of Oksial: method and dosage
Oksial is instilled into the conjunctival sac of the eye.
Before using the drug for the first time, you must make sure that the package with the solution is tight.
Before the start of instillation, it is required with thoroughly washed hands to open the bottle of ophthalmic agent, completely unscrewing the cap until the ring is separated, which is confirmation of the first opening of the bottle. Then, turning the latter upside down, in the absence of other specialist recommendations, 1-2 drops of the solution should be injected into each eye. After completing the procedure, it is required to tightly close the bottle.

When using the drug in rare cases, moderate eye irritation has been recorded.
