RUZAM is an anti-allergic drug for topical use, has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of nasal drops: a colorless or slightly colored transparent liquid with a slight smell of phenol (5 ml in a bottle, in a cardboard box 1 bottle complete with a dropper cap or dropper nozzle and a cap, as well as instructions for using RUZAM).
1 ml of drops contains:
- active substance: concentrate "RUZAM" in the form of an extract from the culture of the thermophilic strain of Staphylococcus aureus (Staphylococcus aureus, strain C-2) - 0.02–0.04 mg;
- auxiliary components: phenol 0.9%; sodium chloride solution for injection.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
RUZAM is an antiallergic drug for local use in otorhinolaryngology (ENT practice). Its therapeutic effect is due to a decrease in edema of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract and a decrease in the content of eosinophils and mast cells in the focus of inflammation. In addition, nasal drops have an anti-inflammatory effect. They increase the level of class A secretory immunoglobulin, increasing the resistance of the mucous membrane to infection.
Indications for use
The use of RUZAM drops is indicated for seasonal or year-round allergic rhinitis.
Contraindications
- decompensated pathologies of internal organs;
- active form of tuberculosis;
- acute infectious disease;
- period of pregnancy;
- breast-feeding;
- age up to 3 years;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
RUZAM, instructions for use: method and dosage
RUZAM drops are used intranasally by injection into each nasal passage.
Recommended dosage:
- adults and children over the age of 12: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day;
- children 3–12 years old: 1–2 drops in each nostril 1–2 times a day for 14 days.
The duration of the course in the treatment of year-round rhinitis in adults is 14-28 days, if necessary, it can be repeated at intervals of 30-60 days.
In case of hay fever, use of the drug should be started 7 days before flowering and continued for 14–21 days during flowering.
Side effects
Against the background of the use of RUZAM drops, such undesirable phenomena as dry nose, malaise, weakness, headache, exacerbation of the focus of chronic infection of the upper respiratory tract may occur.
Overdose
Overdose symptoms have not been established.

It should be borne in mind that an increase in rhinorrhea at the beginning of treatment or an exacerbation in rare cases of a focus of chronic infection in the nasopharynx is not a reason for discontinuing the drug, gradually these symptoms disappear on their own.

The use of RUZAM does not affect the ability of patients to drive vehicles or complex mechanisms.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is not recommended to use RUZAM drops during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Pediatric use
The use of RUZAM in the form of nasal drops in children under the age of three is contraindicated.
With impaired renal function
The use of RUZAM drops for decompensated kidney diseases is contraindicated.
For violations of liver function
The use of RUZAM drops for decompensated liver diseases is contraindicated.
