Normobact L is a biologically active additive (BAA) for the normalization of intestinal microflora.
Release form and composition
Dosage form Normobact L - powder for oral administration: from white to cream color (3 g sachet, 10 sachets in a cardboard box).
Composition of the preparation: lyophilized lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG - 4 × 10 9 CFU, maltodextrin - 2155 mg, fructooligosaccharides - 800 mg, silicon dioxide (E551) - 5 mg.
Pharmacological properties
Normobact L combines probiotics (live lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG) and prebiotics (fructooligosaccharides). Thanks to this combination, the supplement increases the number of beneficial bacteria in the intestine and prolongs their life, as well as restores the body's immune resistance.
The Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) strain is resistant to the effects of bile and gastric acid hydrochloric acid, therefore it remains viable when passing through the gastrointestinal tract. Also, this strain is able to firmly adhere to the epithelium of the intestinal mucosa and produce lactic acid, due to which it has a high degree of colonization and survival.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is the most studied strain of probiotic microorganisms. More than 400 scientific papers have documented its positive effects on the human body. The studies were carried out with the participation of people of all age groups (from newborns to adults, including pregnant women) on all continents (in Eurasia, South and North America, Africa, Australia) using various forms of release (powder, drops, capsules, dairy products, baby food).
The safety of LGG has been documented by the EFSA Scientific Committee and has been awarded the Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) safety status.
All human studies have shown no side effects.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA), the use of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG in infant formula does not pose any health risks.
Effects of LGG on the human body and their clinical manifestations:
- positive effect on bowel function: prevention of constipation and reduction of flatulence, including in cases of prolonged intake of vegetable fiber;
- antiallergic action: preventive effect on the development of atopy in children (including when administered to pregnant and lactating women), a positive effect on the course of atopic dermatitis (against the background of traditional treatment);
- a decrease in the incidence of diarrhea associated with the use of antibiotics: a decrease in stomach pain from 15% to 4%, a decrease in the frequency of loose stools from 48% to 18%;
- a decrease in the incidence of travelers' diarrhea: 3.9% in the group receiving the probiotic, 7.4% in the control group;
- anti-infectious effect: reducing the incidence of bacterial intestinal infections and rotavirus diarrhea, alleviating the course of rotavirus diarrhea;
- strengthening of the immune response: activation of post-vaccination immunity, reduction of the incidence of respiratory viral infections in children's groups;
- anti-carious action: a positive effect on the composition of the microflora of the oral cavity.
Maltodextrin is a non-toxic product of incomplete hydrolysis of starch, is an auxiliary component of a dietary supplement, neutral for the digestion of babies.
Silicon dioxide is used as an anti-caking agent. Non-toxic.
