Lenta is a drug from the insulin group.
pharmachologic effect
Lenta is a hypoglycemic (sugar-lowering) agent, a suspension of purified beef (or pork) insulin of medium duration.
The action of the tape begins 2.5 hours after subcutaneous administration and continues on average for another day (the duration of action is determined by the dose, method, site of administration).
Release form
Tape is released in suspension for injection.
Indications for use of Lenta
The tape according to the instructions is indicated for: diabetes mellitus of the first and second types in cases where the patient's body is resistant to oral hypoglycemic agents, the drug is also used for diseases that complicate diabetes mellitus.
The remedy is also prescribed during pregnancy in cases where diet therapy was ineffective.
Contraindications
According to the instructions, Lenta cannot be used for hypoglycemia, for pancreatic gland tumors (insulinoma). Do not use a drug to remove a patient from a diabetic coma.
The effectiveness of the drug is increased by oxytetracycline, salicylates, beta-adrenostimulants, alpha-blockers, and hormonal oral contraceptives, glucocorticosteroids decrease. The combination of alcohol and Lente can provoke hypoglycemia.
It is not recommended to give insulin injections in the same place. If hypoglycemia occurs, the patient should take sugar.
Caution is observed when prescribing the drug to patients with renal, hepatic, thyroid disorders, Addison's disease, after operations, infections, during pregnancy, after 65 years.

The tape is prescribed to take one, two p / day. Before administration, the vial should be shaken to achieve complete mixing of the solvent with insulin, after which the drug is administered to the patient.
For the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus, Lente is used as the main drug, combining it with fast-acting insulin.
Tape according to the indication type II diabetes, the drug can be used as monotherapy.
Usually, the dosage is determined depending on the patient's condition by the observing physician, while the daily volume of insulin administered ranges from 0.5-1 IU per kg.
If the required dosage of Lente, according to the indications, reaches 0.6 IU per kg, it is administered by two injections in different places on the body.
Side effects
Skin rashes may appear at the injection site, allergic edema may appear, and the volume of adipose tissue may decrease in the subcutaneous tissue.
There was also a lack of response to insulin administration after using Lente.
