Lexin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic.

Release form and composition

Dosage forms:

The active ingredient of Lexin is cephalexin:

Indications for use

The use of Lexin is indicated for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:

  • Osteomyelitis;
  • Prostatitis, urethritis, cystitis, chronic and acute pyelonephritis, bacterial vaginitis, endometritis;
  • Bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia;
  • Furunculosis, abscess, lymphadenitis, erysipelas, pyoderma;
  • Sinusitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, tonsillitis.

Contraindications

  • Breastfeeding period;
  • Individual hypersensitivity to drug components and cephalosporins.

With caution, Lexin should be prescribed to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to antibiotics of the penicillin group (due to the risk of cross-allergy development), as well as with impaired liver and / or kidney function.
