Composition of 1 tablet:

  • active substance: yohimbine hydrochloride - 5 mg;
  • auxiliary components: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, calcium stearate.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Yohimbine is a selective blocker of α 2 -adrenergic receptors. It increases the release of norepinephrine from nerve endings and the flow of sympathetic impulses from the central nervous system, thus exerting a sympathomimetic effect.

The drug increases motor activity, causes vasodilation of the genital, intestinal and renal arteries; stimulates sexual activity.

It has been experimentally established that yohimbine helps to normalize sexual function and the ability to coitus, weakened by stress; has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system; eliminates the inhibition of erection associated with the stimulation of α 2 -adrenergic receptors.

Yohimbine hydrochloride is a low-toxic drug that does not affect the genetic apparatus of sperm cells.

Pharmacokinetics

Yohimbine 45-60 minutes after ingestion is completely absorbed in the digestive tract. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached approximately 45–75 minutes after oral administration. 82% of plasma yohimbine binds to protein.

The substance is evenly distributed in the tissues. It is metabolized both in the liver and outside it. Cumulation of the drug when taken orally in the recommended doses does not occur.

The half-life after a single dose ranges from 0.25 to 2.5 hours. After 24 hours, yohimbine is practically not detected in the urine. Excretion mainly occurs by the kidneys.
