Release form and composition

It is produced in the form of a powder for the preparation of an oral solution, in packages of 5 g, in a carton of 5 or 10 packages.

One sachet of the drug contains the active ingredient - paracetamol 600 mg and auxiliary components: sucrose and ascorbic acid.

Paracetamol belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It inhibits the activity of the enzyme cyclooxygenase, thereby slowing down the production of prostaglandins, thromboxane and prostacyclins from arachidonic acid.

Indications for the use of Grippostad

According to the instructions, Grippostad is prescribed for the symptomatic therapy of patients with an elevated body temperature, including in acute respiratory diseases.

Also, according to the instructions, Grippostad can be used to relieve moderate pain in patients with toothache, headache and algomenorrhea.

Dosages and method of administration of Grippostad

The drug is administered orally. Immediately before use, the contents of one packet are dissolved in one glass of hot boiled water. They drink the finished drink immediately after preparation. To reduce the risk of developing side effects from the digestive system, it is best to consume the drink after meals.

The dosage of the drug and the duration of treatment are determined individually by the attending physician.

As a rule, the dosage in the instructions for Grippostad for adolescents and adults whose body weight is more than 50 kg is one sachet up to four times a day.

Teenagers and adults weighing less than 50 kg should take one packet three times a day.

The maximum single dosage of Grippostad according to the instructions is 15 mg per kg of body weight. The maximum daily dosage is 60 mg per kg of body weight.

It is undesirable to take more than four packages of the drug per day. The interval between doses should not be less than 6-8 hours.

The duration of treatment is five days.

Side effects

The simultaneous administration of paracetamol with chloramphenicol increases its toxicity and slows down its excretion from the body.

Reviews of Grippostad show that it should be taken with caution in combination with oral anticoagulants.

The drug Grippostad, in the opinion of many patients, in combination with zidovudine, increases the development of neutropenia, and in combination with metholclopramide, it enhances the intestinal absorption of paracetamol.

Overdose
