Glycelax is a laxative.
Pharmacological action of Glycelax
The active ingredient of Glycelax is glycerin.
With the help of the drug, you can have a slight irritating effect on the rectal mucosa. Also, the drug stimulates reflex peristalsis. Taking the drug promotes effective softening of feces.
Release form and composition
Glycelax comes in the form of rectal suppositories, each containing 1.5 grams of glycerol for adults and 0.75 grams of glycerol for children.
Each pack contains 10 candles.
Indications for the use of Glycelax
The instruction for Glycelax provides for the use of the drug:
- for the treatment of constipation of various origins (it can be age-related, psychogenic, and functional genesis), including the treatment of rectal coprostasis, which is observed in elderly people;
- with limited mobility, breastfeeding and pregnancy;
- for the prevention of constipation in patients suffering from painful bowel movements that cannot be strained (for example, with hemorrhoids);
- for treating mucous membranes and softening the skin;
- for the treatment of early stage hemorrhoids, anorectal stenosis and perianal abscess.
Suppositories are indicated for use by adults and children. For newborns, Glycelax is also allowed, but only from the age of three months.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications to Glycelax, the reviews of researchers confirm this, one can call renal failure, hypersensitivity, appendicitis, diarrhea, bleeding, cracks in the anus, hemorrhoids, tumors and inflammatory diseases of the rectum.
Glycelax instruction: methods of application

As a laxative, it is used rectally once a day on a suppository, it is recommended to put a candle 15-20 minutes after breakfast. Treatment should be discontinued immediately after the restoration of natural intestinal motility.

With prolonged use of Glycelax, some side effects may occur, manifested in the form of discomfort and irritation in the rectum. Catarrhal proctitis may develop very rarely.
Storage conditions and terms
You can store Glycelax for no more than 5 years from the date of manufacture, out of the reach of children and in a dry place, the temperature of which does not exceed 25 o C.
