- alcohol: the development of symptoms similar to disulfiram (characterized by cramping abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, skin flushing);
- non-depolarizing muscle relaxants (vecuronium bromide): the combination is not recommended;
- indirect anticoagulants: increasing their action (due to the likelihood of an increase in prothrombin time, a dose adjustment of these drugs may be required);
- cimetidine: suppression of the metabolism of metronidazole, which can lead to an increase in its serum concentration in the blood and an increase in the likelihood of adverse reactions;
- phenobarbital, phenytoin and other inducers of enzymes of microsomal oxidation in the liver: acceleration of the elimination of metronidazole, which can lead to a decrease in its plasma concentration in the blood;
