Ginesol is an antifungal agent.
pharmachologic effect
Ginesol has antimicrobial activity, inhibits dermatophytes, yeasts and other fungi that affect the mucous membrane and skin.
There are positive reviews about Ginesol, used in gynecology, which indicate that it quickly relieves itching, often accompanying fungal diseases of the vagina and does not affect the acidity of the vaginal environment, the composition of its microflora.
The active ingredient of the drug is miconazole.

Indications for use
Local vaginal suppositories Ginesol are used according to the instructions for the treatment of vulvovaginal and vaginal candidiasis, fungal balanitis.
Outwardly, a cream or spray is used to treat onychomycosis, dermatomycosis.
Ginezol instruction: method of application
Vaginal capsules and suppositories are inserted into the vagina at night. After the symptoms of fungal infection have disappeared, treatment should be continued for another two weeks.
The following therapeutic regimens are used:
- 200mg is injected at night for a week;
- 200mg of the drug is administered on the first day of therapy at night and 200mg in the morning and evening for the next three days;
- 400 mg is administered at night for three days.
The total duration of treatment with Ginesol depends on the data of the smear test for fungus. On average, it does not last more than 6 weeks.
Treatment of onychomycosis lasts three months, while Ginesol should be used constantly.
For other types of fungus, a cream or spray is applied to the affected skin twice a day, rubbing gently. The treatment continues until the symptoms of the fungus disappear, and to consolidate the result, continue to apply Ginesol cream / spray for several more days.
Side effects of Ginesol
The drug can cause nausea, diarrhea - with prolonged use, skin reactions.
There are reviews about Ginesol in the form of vaginal suppositories, which causes allergic reactions to the vaginal mucosa.
Ginezol cream or spray should be applied without exceeding the prescribed dosage, otherwise skin irritation, burning, itching may appear. These symptoms are transient, disappear after the drug is canceled.
Contraindications
Ginesol vaginal suppositories and capsules should not be taken in 2-3 trimesters of pregnancy, with renal, hepatic insufficiency, they are not prescribed for children under 12 years of age.
