Heptrong is a new generation hepatoprotective drug with double action; has an antiviral effect in combination with adaptogenic and immunomodulatory.
Release form and composition
Dosage form Geptrong - solution for intramuscular injection: clear colorless or slightly yellowish liquid (3 ml in ampoules of colorless or light-protective glass, equipped with a break point or ring, 5 ampoules in blisters, 2 packs in a cardboard box).
1 ampoule (3 ml) contains:
- active substance: a solution of low molecular weight sugars obtained from honey, including glucose, sucrose, H-pentose, mannose, galactose, lactose, fructose - 12 mg;
- excipients: sodium chloride, water for injection.
Indications for use
Heptrong is used as part of the complex therapy of the following conditions / diseases:
- alcoholic liver disease at any stage;
- non-alcoholic steatohepatitis;
- medicinal liver damage;
- toxic liver damage;
- liver cirrhosis in the stage of compensation and subcompensation;
- toxicosis of pregnant women.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated for use in any form of increased individual sensitivity and intolerance to honey and products containing it, as well as in case of hypersensitivity to bee stings, wasps, and other hymenoptera insects.
The decision to use Geptrong during pregnancy and breastfeeding (lactation) is decided in each case individually, depending on the clinical picture.
Method of administration and dosage
The solution is intended for intramuscular administration. Injections are made into the outer upper quadrant of the gluteus maximus.
The recommended initial single dose is 6 ml.
The therapy regimen depends on the disease (the drug is administered once a day):
- alcoholic liver disease: 1st, 2nd, 3rd days - at a dose of 3 ml, 4th, 5th days - 6 ml, 6th, 7th days - 9 ml, 8th, 9th days - 6 ml, 10, 11, 12th days - 3 ml;
- non-alcoholic steatohepatitis: 1, 2, 3 days - 3 ml, 4th, 5th days - 6 ml, 6th, 7th days - 9 ml, 8th, 9th days - 6 ml; 10, 11, 12 days - 3 ml; within six months it is necessary to conduct 3-4 courses;
- medicinal and toxic liver damage: the first 6 days - at a dose of 6 ml, then 3 ml daily; the duration of the course depends on the clinical condition of the patient;
- liver cirrhosis: in a dose of 6 ml, course duration - 10-15 days;
- toxicosis of pregnant women: the first 6 days - at a dose of 6 ml, then 3 ml daily; the duration of the course depends on the clinical condition of the pregnant woman.
Side effects
As a result of the use of Geptrong in some patients, there was an increase in appetite, insomnia.
Overdose cases have not been reported to date.

In patients with diabetes mellitus, the solution should be used with caution, under the control of blood glucose levels. In 1 ampoule of the drug, the carbohydrate content is 0.001 XE (bread units).
