Gemodez-N is a detoxifying agent.

Release form and composition

Dosage form: solution for infusion - transparent liquid of yellow or light yellow color (100, 200, 250, 400 or 500 ml in bottles, 100, 250 or 500 ml in containers, 250 or 400 ml in bottles, in cardboard pack - 1 piece; in a cardboard box - 28 bottles of 250 ml, 28 bottles of 200 ml, 15 bottles or bottles of 400 ml).

Content of active ingredients in 100 ml of solution:

  • Low molecular weight medical povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone) with a molecular weight of 8000 + -2000 - 6000 mg;
  • Sodium chloride - 550 mg;
  • Calcium chloride - 50 mg;
  • Potassium chloride - 42 mg;
  • Sodium bicarbonate - 23 mg;
  • Anhydrous magnesium chloride - 0.5 mg.

Excipients: water for injection.

Indications for use

The detoxification effect of Gemodez-N is used in the treatment of the following pathologies:

  • Intoxication (toxic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), including dyspepsia, dysentery, salmonellosis; radiation, burn and hemolytic diseases, intestinal obstruction, peritonitis, sepsis, thyrotoxicosis, liver disease, pneumonia; myocardial infarction in the acute phase);
  • Shock (postoperative, post-traumatic, burn, hemorrhagic);
  • Gestosis;
  • Toxemia of newborns.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of the drug are:

  • Chronic heart failure stage IIB-III;
  • Hemorrhagic stroke;
  • Intracranial hypertension;
  • Condition after traumatic brain injury;
  • Respiratory failure;
  • Bronchial asthma;
  • Severe allergic reactions;
  • Acute nephritis, oliguria, anuria;
  • Phlebothrombosis;
  • Thromboembolism;
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Method of administration and dosage

The solution is injected intravenously at a rate of 40-80 drops per minute using a filter device.

Before the procedure, the solution must be heated to body temperature.

The doctor prescribes the dosage individually, taking into account the degree of intoxication and the patient's age.

A single dose for adults is 200-500 ml, for children at the rate of 5-10 ml per 1 kg of the child's weight.

The maximum single dose for children, depending on age, should not exceed:

  • Up to 2 years old - 50-70 ml;
  • From 2 to 5 years old - 100 ml;
  • From 5 to 10 years old - 150 ml;
  • For teenagers from 10 to 15 years old - 200 ml.

The drug is administered 1-2 times a day for 1-10 days, depending on the degree of poisoning:

  • Hemolytic disease and toxemia of newborns - every other day or daily for 2-8 procedures;
  • Large-focal myocardial infarction - on the first day, 200 ml of the drug is injected once, if necessary, the next day the infusion can be repeated in the same volume;
  • Acute gastrointestinal infections, burns and radiation sickness - 1-2 times a day.

When the solution is injected, it is necessary to monitor the general condition and blood pressure of the patient.

Side effects

At a high rate of administration of the drug, side effects may occur in the form of difficulty breathing, arterial hypotension, tachycardia.

In some cases, the action of Gemodez-N can cause the development of allergic reactions up to anaphylactic shock.

Freezing does not affect the quality of the drug; after thawing at room temperature, the contents should be thoroughly shaken before use.

For extensive burns, the simultaneous administration of albumin, gamma globulin, plasma is recommended.
