GeloMyrtol forte is a phytopreparation with anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, mucolytic action.

Release form and composition

Dosage form - enteric capsules: gelatinous soft, transparent, oblong; the capsules contain a colorless transparent liquid with a characteristic odor (in a cardboard box 2 blisters of 10 capsules).

Composition of 1 capsule:

  • active substance: myrtol - 300 mg (standardized for the minimum content: limonene - 75 mg; cineole - 75 mg; α-pinene - 20 mg);
  • auxiliary component: rapeseed oil;
  • capsule: sorbitol, gelatin, 85% glycerol, 13% hydrochloric acid solution;
  • enteric capsule shell: dextrin, hypromellose acetate succinate, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, triethyl acetate, talc, sodium lauryl sulfate.

The active component of GeloMirtola forte is myrtol, a plant-derived substance with mucolytic, expectorant, antimicrobial, antioxidant, fungicidal, deodorant activity. By changing the pH, it has an effect that reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions; facilitates the excretion of sputum, activating the activity of the ciliated epithelium.

Pharmacokinetics

Myrtol is well absorbed in the small intestine.

The maximum plasma concentration of the substance in the blood is reached after taking the drug within 1-3 hours.

Excretion of myrtol and its metabolites: with urine - about 60%; with feces - 5%; lungs - about 2%.

The substance can pass through the placental barrier and into breast milk.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, GeloMyrtol forte is prescribed as part of the complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, including sinusitis and acute / chronic bronchitis.

Contraindications

  • bronchial asthma;
  • gallstone and urolithiasis;
  • age up to 10 years;
  • I trimester of pregnancy and lactation;
  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

  • chronic inflammation: children 10–18 years old - once a day; adults - 2 times a day.

In order to facilitate sputum discharge in the morning, adults are additionally prescribed 1 capsule before bedtime.

It is advisable to take capsules with enough room temperature water, 30 minutes before meals.
