Vita-Iodurol is a combined drug for topical use in ophthalmology for the treatment of cataracts.
Release form and composition
Vita-Iodurol is produced in the form of eye drops, colorless or weakly colored transparent solution (10 ml each in polyethylene dropper bottles, in a cardboard box 1 bottle).
Composition of 1 ml solution:
- active ingredients: magnesium chloride hexahydrate - 3 mg, calcium chloride dihydrate - 2 mg, adenosine - 1 mg, nicotinic acid - 0.3 mg;
- auxiliary components: sodium chlorine, sodium hydroxide, benzalkonium chloride, water for injection.
The pH of the solution is 6.5.

Pharmacodynamics
Vita-Iodurol is an anti-cataract drug, the effectiveness of which is due to the action of the active components that make up its composition. They improve the metabolism of the lens, impede the accumulation of protein in the tissues of the lens, and normalize periorbital circulation. Such processes enhance the trophism of the lens, metabolism and blood supply to the eyeball.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Vita-Iodurol is recommended for the prevention and treatment of the following types of cataracts: senile, congenital, traumatic, secondary.
Contraindications
- pregnancy and lactation period;
- children and adolescents under 18 years of age;
- hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Instructions for the use of Vita-Iodurol: method and dosage
Vita-Iodurol eye drops are intended for topical application by instillation into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye.
Single dose - 1-2 drops each; frequency of application - 2-3 times a day; the duration of the course is several months.
Side effects
Due to the use of Vita-Iodurol in patients with hypersensitivity, local allergic reactions are likely to develop.

Drops are intended solely for topical use. The drug is not used for oral and parenteral administration.
If it is necessary to simultaneously use other eye drops between instillations, a break of 15 minutes should be taken.
It is not recommended to wear soft contact lenses while using Vita-Iodurol eye drops. When wearing hard contact lenses, they should be removed before instillation and put on again 15-20 minutes after the procedure.
The bottle must be closed after each instillation. Do not touch the eye with the pipette tip.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
There is no sufficient experience in the use of Vita-Iodurol in pregnant and lactating women. If necessary, it is possible to use drops if the expected therapeutic effect for the mother exceeds the risk of developing side effects in the fetus / child.
Pediatric use
Due to the lack of sufficient experience on the effectiveness and safety of the drug for the treatment of children and adolescents under 18 years of age, it is not used in pediatrics.
