Vikasol belongs to the group of vitamins obtained synthetically. An analogue of vitamin K.

pharmachologic effect

A water-soluble analogue of natural vitamin K, obtained in a laboratory way. Takes part in the formation of prothrombin. Normalizes blood clotting indicators. Lack of vitamin K leads to increased bleeding.

Release form

Vikasol is produced in powder, in tablets of 0.015 g and in ampoules of 1 ml with 1% solution.

Indications for the use of Vikasol

The use of Vikasol is advisable in the following cases:

- jaundice, which develops as a result of untimely intake of bile into the intestines;

- capillary and parenchymal bleeding;

- bleeding that occurs with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer;

- thrombocytopenic purpura;

- radiation sickness;

- persistent nose and hemorrhoidal bleeding.

According to the instructions, Vikasol is prescribed to pregnant women in the last trimester to prevent bleeding in newborns.

It is possible to use Vikasol in newborns with hemorrhagic disease (increased bleeding).

Vikasol injections and tablets are prescribed for juvenile uterine and dysfunctional uterine bleeding before puberty and in the premenopausal period.

The use of Vikasol is advisable in case of bleeding with tuberculosis, septic diseases, decreased coagulability, the use of anticoagulants, vitamin K antagonists, phenylin, neodycoumarin and other drugs with a similar effect.

The appointment of Vicasol injection solution and tablets for hemophilia and Werlhof's disease does not bring the desired therapeutic effect.

Instructions for the use of Vikasol and doses

Vikasol tablets are taken orally. Solution for injection is administered intramuscularly. Average dose for adults: Vicasol tablets from 0.015 to 0.3 g per day; solution for injections from 0.01 to 0.015 g. The maximum allowable dose for adults: Vikasol tablets at a time no more than 0.03 g, per day - no more than 0.06 g; intramuscularly in injections of no more than 0.015 g per injection and no more than 0.03 g per day.

It is possible to use Vikasol for children under one year old. In this case, the permissible daily dose is from 0.002 to 0.005 g. Children under three years old can take Vikasol in a dose of 0.006 grams, at the age of 3 to 4 years - 0.008 g, at 5-9 years old, 0.01 g of Vikasol can be prescribed, from 10 to 14 years, 0.015 g. The daily dose is divided into 2 or three doses, Vikasol is taken according to the instructions for three or four days in a row, then a four-day break is made, and the course is repeated again.

Side effects
