Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Broncho-munal P has an immunostimulating effect, helping to increase immunity against respiratory tract infections.

After oral administration of the capsule, the bacterial lysate contained in it accumulates in group (generalized) lymphoid nodules or Peyer's patches of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), localized primarily in the mucous membrane of the ileal wall. The antigen-presenting cells in Peyer's patches activated by bacterial lysate further stimulate B-lymphocytes - cells responsible for a specific immune response. The number of circulating B-lymphocytes increases, which causes an increase in the production of polyclonal antibodies, mainly serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) and immunoglobulin A (IgA), produced by the salivary glands and the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract.

Also, Broncho-munal P stimulates most of the leukocytes, which is expressed in an increase in the number of cells of the lymphoid and myeloid series, and a selective increase in the expression of receptors located on the surface.

Against the background of using the drug to fight against viruses and bacteria, the body's natural defense mechanisms are activated, leading to an increase in resistance to infections of the respiratory system. The drug reduces the frequency and duration of acute respiratory tract infections, and also reduces the risk of exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. This reduces the need for other drugs, including antibiotics.

Reviews about Broncho-Munale P

On medical sites, reviews of Broncho-Munal P are quite common, and they are quite diverse. Many parents of young patients note that after a course of use of the drug in the preparatory period for kindergarten, constantly ill children were much less likely to be exposed to acute respiratory tract infections and more easily tolerated adaptation to a preschool. In their opinion, the drug helped to strengthen the immune system of babies, and if the children were still sick, they recovered much faster.

However, there are many reviews in which parents complain about the lack of a dramatic effect on strengthening the immune system in their children. And they indicate that children also often continued to get sick in kindergarten or school during the period of taking the drug, as before. Only the intervals between acute respiratory diseases became longer, and after the completion of treatment, the effect of the drug was not observed at all. At the same time, almost no one noted the development of adverse reactions.

In some reviews, the drug is recommended to be used only for the prevention of exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.

The disadvantage of the drug is considered by many to be its high cost.
