Release form and composition
Dosage form - capsules: size No. 2, gelatinous, hard, with pink body and lid; capsule filler - brown powder with darker particles, may contain lumps (10 pcs. in blisters / blisters / blisters, in a cardboard box 2 or 6 blisters / packs).
Composition of 1 capsule:
- active substance: dry extract of leaves of Ginkgo biloba [Ginkgo biloba L. of the family Ginkgoaceae (Ginkgoaceae)] - 80 mg;
- additional components: colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, talc, corn starch, liquid dextrose (dextrose, oligo- and polysaccharides);
- capsule composition: gelatin, titanium dioxide, azorubin dye (E122), iron dye black oxide (E172), iron dye red oxide (E172).
The ratio of the amount of plant material to the amount of the original extract: 35–67: 1. Acetone / water is used as an extractant.

Thanks to the bilobed ginkgo, which is part of Ginkgo, Bilobil Forte:
- improves blood rheology;
- improves cerebral and peripheral circulation;
- increases the resistance of the body and especially the tissues of the brain to hypoxia;
- increases the tone of the veins;
- dilates small arteries;
- has a regulatory effect (dose-dependent) on the vascular wall;
- improves metabolism in organs and tissues;
- prevents the formation of free radicals and lipid peroxidation of cell membranes;
- promotes accumulation of macroergs in cells;
- increases the utilization of oxygen and glucose;
- normalizes the release, reabsorption and catabolism of neurotransmitters (acetylcholine, dopamine, norepinephrine) and their ability to bind to receptors;
- normalizes mediator processes in the central nervous system.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug is absorbed in the small intestine. The maximum concentration in blood plasma reaches within 2 hours.
The half-life of Bilobil forte from the body is 2 to 4 hours.
Indications for use
- diabetic retinopathy;
- Raynaud's syndrome;
- violation of peripheral circulation and microcirculation (including arteriopathy of the lower extremities);
- neurosensory disturbances (ringing in the ears, dizziness, hypoacusia);
- discirculatory encephalopathy of various etiologies (in old age, due to stroke or traumatic brain injury), accompanied by a weakening of memory, a decrease in attention and intellectual abilities, sleep disturbances;
- senile macular degeneration.
Contraindications
- age up to 18 years;
- acute disorders of cerebral circulation;
- peptic ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer in the acute stage;
- erosive gastritis;
- acute myocardial infarction;
- decreased blood clotting;
- syndrome of glucose-galactose malabsorption, lactase deficiency, galactosemia;
- hypersensitivity to drug components.
Instructions for the use of Bilobil forte: method and dosage
Bilobil Forte capsules are indicated for oral administration: they should be swallowed whole and washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid. The time of taking the drug does not depend on meals.
Adults are prescribed 1 capsule 2 times a day - morning and evening. With discirculatory encephalopathy, it is possible to increase the daily dose to 3 capsules.
An improvement in the condition is usually noted after a month of regular intake of Bilobil Forte, however, the course of treatment should be at least 3 months, especially in the elderly.
On the recommendation of a doctor, a repeated therapeutic course is possible.
Side effects
Bilobil Forte is generally well tolerated. In very rare cases (<1/10000, including isolated reports), the following side effects are noted:
- digestive system: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting;
- hemostasis system: decreased blood clotting; with the simultaneous use of drugs that reduce blood clotting - bleeding;
- nervous system: insomnia, dizziness, headache;
- sense organs: hearing impairment;
- allergic reactions: swelling, skin redness, itching.
Patients with epilepsy may develop epileptic seizures during therapy.
Overdose
Overdose cases have not been reported to date.

The capsules contain azorubin, a dye that can cause the development of bronchospasm and allergic reactions.
The development of hypersensitivity reactions is a direct indication for the cancellation of Bilobil forte.
In the event of an upcoming surgical intervention, the patient should inform the doctor that he is taking ginkgo biloba.
If neurosensory disturbances reappear, consult a doctor.
If during therapy, hearing suddenly deteriorates or disappears, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Patients with hemorrhagic diathesis and persons receiving anticoagulant therapy can take Bilobil Forte only as directed by a medical specialist.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms
Patients undergoing treatment with this drug should be careful when performing activities that require speed of reactions and / or increased attention, including when driving a car and working with complex mechanisms.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
There is no sufficient amount of data on the safety of using Bilobil forte during pregnancy and breastfeeding, therefore, during these periods, women are not recommended to take the drug.
Pediatric use
The efficacy and safety of ginkgo biloba for children and adolescents under 18 have not been established, therefore Bilobil Forte is not used in pediatrics.
Drug interactions
According to the instructions, it is not recommended to prescribe Bilobil forte to patients who are constantly taking drugs that reduce blood clotting, such as direct and indirect anticoagulants, acetylsalicylic acid or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, since this combination increases the risk of bleeding.
