Salmonella bacteriophage is an immunostimulating agent with a specific antibacterial effect against Salmonella groups A, B, C, D and E.
Release form and composition
Dosage forms:
- solution for oral administration and topical use: transparent yellow liquid of varying intensity of staining (20 ml in vials, in a cardboard box 4 or 8 bottles; 100 ml in bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard box);
- tablets with acid-resistant coating: round, biconvex, Ø - 7 mm, light gray or light beige color of varying intensity of staining, with light inclusions, marbling is allowed (50 pcs. in glass bottles, 10 bottles in a cardboard box).
Each pack also contains instructions for the use of Salmonella bacteriophage.
The composition of the solution in 1 bottle:
- active substance: bacteriophage salmonella groups A, B, C, D, E liquid - 20 or 100 ml;
- auxiliary component (preservative): quinosol.
Composition of 1 tablet:
- active substance: bacteriophage salmonella groups A, B, C, D, E - 72 mg;
- auxiliary components: calcium stearate, dextrose monohydrate, calcium gluconate monohydrate, skim milk (dry residue), purified talc, pectin.

Salmonella bacteriophage of groups A, B, C, D, E is a microbiological agent that causes lysis of the following salmonella:
- group A - Salmonella paratyphi A;
- group B - Salmonella Heidelberg, Salmonella paratyphi B, Salmonella typhimurium;
- group C - Salmonella oranienburg, Salmonella choleraesuis, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella newport;
- group D - Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella dublin;
- group E - Salmonella newlands, Salmonella analum.

Indications for use
The salmonella bacteriophage is intended for the prevention and treatment of diseases and carriage of bacteria caused by salmonella groups A, B, C, D, E.
Contraindications
There are no restrictions on the use of a liquid bacteriophage in the form of a solution.
In the form of tablets, the drug is contraindicated in children under 1 year of age.

Oral and topical solution
Salmonella bacteriophage in the form of a solution is intended for oral and rectal (in the form of enemas after bowel cleansing) use. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
Inside, the drug is taken 1 hour before meals 3 times a day from the first day of detection of the disease. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
In diseases accompanied by mild colitis syndrome, and during the recovery period, it is recommended to combine oral administration 2 times a day with 1 rectal administration.
Recommended single dosages for oral administration of Salmonella bacteriophage, depending on the patient's age:
- 0-6 months - 5 ml;
- 6-12 months - 10-15 ml;
- 1-3 years - 15-20 ml;
- 3–8 years old - 20–30 ml;
- from 8 years and older - 30-40 ml.
Recommended single dosages for rectal administration of Salmonella bacteriophage, depending on the patient's age:
- 0-6 months - 10 ml;
- 6-12 months - 20 ml;
- 1-3 years - 20-30 ml;
- 3–8 years old - 30–40 ml;
- 8 years and older - 50-60 ml.
For prophylactic purposes, bacteriophage is used to prevent the carriage of bacteria and the development of nosocomial infection, as well as to prevent infection during group diseases in families and organized groups. In this case, 1 age dose should be taken 1 time per day. The duration of the course is determined by the conditions of the epidemic situation.
Acid-resistant coated tablets
Salmonella bacteriophage in the form of tablets should be taken orally, 1 hour before meals 3 times a day, from the first day of the disease. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
