Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Nasal is a vasoconstrictor for topical use in ENT practice. Xylometazoline, the active component of the drug, belongs to the group of local vasoconstrictors (decongestants) with alpha-adrenomimetic action.

The mechanism of action is based on the narrowing of the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, which leads to the elimination of edema and hyperemia of the nasopharyngeal mucosa.

In case of rhinitis, Dlinos facilitates nasal breathing; when used in therapeutic concentrations, the mucous membrane does not irritate and does not cause tissue hyperemia.

The action develops over several minutes, its duration - up to 10 hours.

Pharmacokinetics

When applied topically, xylometazoline is practically not absorbed, plasma concentrations are below the detection limit.

Indications for use

  • Acute allergic rhinitis;
  • Eustachite;
