Method of administration and dosage
ASA-cardio is taken orally after meals. The tablet is not chewed, washed down with plenty of liquid.
The duration of therapy is determined by the attending physician. As an antiplatelet agent, the drug is taken for a long time.

The maintenance dose after the development of myocardial infarction is 200-300 mg per day for 30 days;
- prevention of acute myocardial infarction that arose for the first time (in the presence of risk factors): 100 mg once a day or 300 mg every other day;
- prevention of thromboembolism of the pulmonary artery and its branches, as well as deep vein thrombosis: 100-200 mg per day or 300 mg every other day;

special instructions
ASA-cardio should only be used as directed by a physician.
In low doses, ASA can cause the development of gout in predisposed patients.
High doses of the drug have a hypoglycemic effect, which should be taken into account when prescribing ASA to patients with diabetes mellitus receiving insulin or oral hypoglycemic drugs.
If the dose of ASA-cardio is exceeded, the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding increases.
In elderly patients, drug overdose is especially dangerous.
During treatment, care must be taken when performing work associated with a high concentration of attention and a quick reaction (driving a car, the work of the operator and dispatcher, etc.).
Drug interactions
With the simultaneous use of ASA-cardio, it enhances the therapeutic effects and side effects of the following drugs: methotrexate, thrombolytic, antiplatelet and anticoagulant agents, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, digoxin, insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents, valproic acid, salicylates and non-steroids … If it is necessary to use ASA simultaneously with the listed drugs, it is recommended to consider the issue of reducing their doses.
With the joint appointment of ASA-cardio in high doses, it weakens the therapeutic effects of the following drugs: any diuretics, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, uricosuric agents (probenecid, benzbromarone), systemic glucocorticosteroids (with the exception of hydrocortisone, which is used for replacement therapy of Addison's disease). If it is necessary to use ASA simultaneously with the listed drugs, it is recommended to consider the issue of adjusting their doses.
