Artemisin-S is a dietary supplement used for the treatment of helminthic invasions and protozoal infections, as well as a number of other diseases.
Release form and composition
Artemisin-S is available in the form of tablets of 0.5 g (90 pieces in a plastic jar).
The content of plant components in 1 tablet:
- Thyme - 50 mg;
- Wormwood herb - 60 mg;
- St. John's wort extract - 10 mg;
- Common tansy flowers - 80 mg;
- Peppermint leaves - 50 mg;
- Wormwood extract - 20 mg;
- Carnation flowers - 30 mg;
- Buckthorn bark extract - 30 mg;
- Hop extract - 10 mg;
- Knotweed extract - 15 mg;
- Clove oil - 0.5 mg
Indications for use
Artemisin-S has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, astringent, phytoncidal and antibacterial properties. It contains plant components with antihelminthic properties. The drug has a paralyzing effect and acts on both mature and intermediate stages of more than a hundred types of helminths, parasites and protozoa with enterobiasis, ascariasis, trichinosis, opisthorchiasis, hookworm disease, cestidosis, hymenolipedosis and giardiasis.
In addition, Artemisin-S:
- It has an antispasmodic effect, relaxing the smooth muscles of the intestines, bile ducts and ureters, and also relieves spasms of the gallbladder, stomach, large and small intestines;
- Regulates metabolic processes at the cellular level and eliminates signs of tissue hypoxia;
- Promotes the restoration of normal intestinal microflora, as well as the normalization of peristalsis and the elimination of fermentation and decay processes;
- It has an ulcer and wound healing, cleansing and protective effect. Artemisin-S reduces spasms of blood vessels, strengthens capillary walls and improves blood supply to internal organs;
- Improves renal filtration;
- Promotes the activation of the secretory and motor function of the intestine;
- It has antioxidant, tonic and immunoactive, as well as mild hypotensive, sedative, anticonvulsant, antitoxic properties.
The use of Artemisin-S is shown:
- Prevention of infestation by helminths and protozoa;
- Treatment of helminthic infestations with round and flat worms, as well as protozoal infections;
- Complex treatment of gastritis, biliary dyskinesia, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract (as an adjuvant);
- Respiratory allergic diseases: rhinitis, conjunctivitis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma (as an adjuvant);
- Various skin diseases in the form of allergic dermatoses, food dermatoses, eczema, mycoses, psoriasis, neurodermatitis and vitiligo (as an adjuvant);
- Metabolic disorders such as obesity, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus (as an adjuvant);
- Removal of hangover syndrome (as an adjuvant).
Contraindications
The use of Artemisin-S is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance to any of its components. Also, you should not take a supplement at the same time as other medicines.
Method of administration and dosage
Artemisin-S is recommended to be taken in a course of at least 10 days as a biologically active food supplement. The adult dosage is 2 tablets three times daily with meals. The daily dose for children depends on age:
- Up to 3 years, the recommended dosage is 0.5 tablets two to three times a day;
- 3-7 years old - 1 tablet twice a day;
- 7-12 years old - 1 tablet three times a day;
- 12-14 years old - 2 tablets twice a day.
Taking into account the peculiarities of the biological cycle of protozoa, it is recommended to periodically repeat deworming courses. Also, during treatment with Artemisin-S, it is necessary to follow a diet and diet with a limited amount of carbohydrates, preservatives, spicy and salty foods, animal fats and increased fluid intake.
Side effects
The use of Artemisin-S rarely causes side effects; the herbal preparation is usually well tolerated by adults and children.
