Antral is a hepatoprotector, a drug that helps protect liver cells from the effects of negative factors.
Release form and composition
The active ingredient of the drug is antral (tris [N (2,3-dimethylphenyl) anthranilato] aluminum). Auxiliary components: heavy magnesium carbonate, calcium stearate, aerosil, povidone 29/32, crospovidone XL 10, polysorbate-80, microcrystalline cellulose 101, potato starch, Opadry 85 II G25557 red, Opadry 85 II G18490 white.
The drug is available in biconvex tablets, film-coated, dark red, containing 0.1 g or 0.2 g of antral in one tablet. In blisters of 10 tablets, 3 blisters in a carton box.
Indications for use
The use of Antral is advisable for both adults and children with such diseases and conditions:
- Hepatitis in acute and chronic form of various origins (alcoholic, toxic, viral, drug-induced);
- Cirrhosis of the liver;
- Fatty degeneration of the liver;
- Inflammatory processes in the pancreas, spleen and gallbladder.
Also, the drug is used as a prophylactic agent when exposed to toxins, drugs, radiation and chemotherapy on the liver.
Contraindications
The use of Antral according to the instructions is contraindicated:
- In case of hypersensitivity to any components of the drug;
- Children under the age of 4;
- In case of impaired renal excretory function.
Method of administration and dosage
According to the instructions, Antral is taken orally 3 times a day, half an hour after a meal and washed down with a small amount of pure water or milk.
The dosage for one dose is as follows:
- For adults and children over 10 years old - 200 mg;
- With cirrhosis of the liver in the first week - 400 mg, in the next two or three weeks, 200 mg;
- Children aged 4 to 10 years - 100 mg.
The duration of drug treatment varies and depends on the severity of the disease. On average, the course of treatment lasts 3-4 weeks, after the same period of time it is repeated.
Side effects
In rare cases, there may be a manifestation of indigestion, which disappears after treatment is discontinued. In general, patients tolerate Antral therapy well, which is confirmed by positive reviews.
